ਜਰਮਨੀ ਦੇ ਮਿਊਨਿਖ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ, ਇੱਕ 24 ਸਾਲਾ ਅਫਗਾਨ ਸ਼ਰਨਾਰਥੀ ਫਰਹਾਦ ਨੂਰੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ, ਵਰਦੀ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੀੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ 30 ਲੋਕ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੱਚੇ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਹਮਲਾਵਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਕੇ 'ਤੇ ਹੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਬਵੇਰੀਆ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮਾਰਕਸ ਸੋਡਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੁਲੀਸ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਫਰਹਾਦ ਨੂਰੀ ਦੀ ਅਸਾਈਲਮ ਅਰਜ਼ੀ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਰੱਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਜਰਮਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਅਸਥਾਈ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ ਪਰਮਿਟ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਹਮਲੇ ਨੇ ਜਰਮਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਵਾਸਨ ਨੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਮਸਲਿਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਫੈਡਰਲ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
