ਹਰਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਜਿੱਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਬਚਪਨ ਦੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤੇ। ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਬੱਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡਣ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਦੀ ਮਿਸਾਲ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਨਾ ਛੱਡਣ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਜੇਤੂ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਹਰਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਚਪਨ ਦੇ ਭਾਵੁਕ ਪਲ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕੀਤੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੌਕੀਨ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਕਿੱਟ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬੈਟ ਫੜਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਗਾਇਆ ਜੋ ਅੱਜ ਹਕੀਕਤ ਬਣ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਨਵੀਂ ਮੁੰਬਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਅਫਰੀਕਾ ਨੂੰ 52 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹਰਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨੇ ਬੀਸੀਸੀਆਈ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੋਸਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਚਪਨ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ, “ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਨਾ ਛੱਡੋ। ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਤਾ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।”
ਹਰਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਛੋਟੀ ਸੀ, ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਇੱਕ ਬੱਲਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਯਾਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਪਿਤਾ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਕਿੱਟ ਬੈਗ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਬੱਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਬੱਲਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੀ। ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਪਿਤਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਬੱਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਾਸ਼ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਛੋਟਾ ਬੱਲਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਸੀ।”
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਟੀਵੀ ਤੇ ਮੈਚ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਸੀ, ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਸੀ ਜਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਸੀ, ਮੈਂ ਸੋਚਦੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਤਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।”
ਹਰਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਹਰਮੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਮੋਗਾ ਦੀ ਨਿਆਂਇਕ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਲਰਕ ਦੀ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਅਤੇ ਫੁੱਟਬਾਲ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਸਨ। ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਪੱਕੇ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ ਇਹ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਇਆ। ਹਰਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਆਸਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਹਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਨੀ।
36 ਸਾਲਾ ਇਸ ਸਟਾਰ ਖਿਡਾਰਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬਚਪਨ ਦਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਆਰਾਮਦਾਇਕ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਮਰ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ 2017 ਵਿੱਚ ਲੰਡਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਤੋਂ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਹਾਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਤੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ।
India's World Cup-winning captain Harmanpreet Kaur shared emotional moments from her childhood. She recounted how picking up a bat from her sports-loving father's cricket kit awakened a dream that has now become reality.
After leading India to a 52-run victory over South Africa in the Women's World Cup final in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, Harmanpreet recalled her childhood in a video posted by BCCI. She advised emerging young players: “Never stop dreaming. You never know where your destiny will take you.”
Harmanpreet said, “Ever since I was little, there was always a bat in my hand. I still remember we used to play with a bat from my father's kit bag. That bat was very big. One day, my father carved one of his old bats to make a small one for me. We used to play with that.”
She added, “Whenever we watched matches on TV, saw India playing, or watched the World Cup, I used to think I want such an opportunity too. At that time, I didn't even know about women's cricket.”
Harmanpreet's father, Harmandar Singh Bhullar, played cricket and football before working as a clerk in Moga's judicial court. This journey, started with her father's firm support in childhood, culminated in the World Cup trophy on Sunday. Harmanpreet said the journey wasn't easy, but she never gave up on the challenges of women's cricket.
The 36-year-old star player said she feels comfortable and humble after fulfilling her childhood dream. She also remembered the grand welcome the Indian team received after losing the final to England in London in 2017.
