ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਹਸੀਨਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਅਵਾਮੀ ਲੀਗ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਹਮਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ। ਢਾਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਮੁਜੀਬੁਰ ਰਹਿਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਯਾਦਗਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੰਧ-ਚਿੱਤਰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ।

ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ’ਤੇ "ਬੁਲਡੋਜ਼ਰ ਜਲੂਸ" ਦੇ ਸੱਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਧਨਮੰਡੀ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਮੁਜੀਬੁਰ ਰਹਿਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਰੈਲੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਡੋਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਢਾਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਹਲਚਲ ਅੱਜ ਸਵੇਰ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੀ।
ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਹਿੰਸਕ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਹਸੀਨਾ ਦੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਕਾਨ ਢਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਖੁਲਨਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਹੇਲਾਲ ਉਦਦੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਸਲਾਉਦਦੀਨ ਜਵੈਲ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵੀ ਹਮਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਬਣੇ।
ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ, ਢਾਕਾ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਗਬੰਧੂ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਮੁਜੀਬੁਰ ਰਹਿਮਾਨ ਹਾਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਹਟਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ।
ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਹਸੀਨਾ ਦੇ ਮਰਹੂਮ ਪਤੀ ਵਾਜ਼ਿਦ ਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ ‘ਸੁਧਾ ਸਦਨ’ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅੱਗ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। 5 ਅਗਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਹਸੀਨਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸੱਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਬੇਦਖਲ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਹ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਖਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
In Bangladesh, protesters launched nighttime attacks on the homes of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s relatives and leaders of the Awami League. In Dhaka, the memorial of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was also targeted, with his wall murals being destroyed.
Reports indicate that the demolition of some buildings continued into the morning. The interim government of Bangladesh has urged people to end violence and seek peaceful solutions. Earlier, there was vandalism and arson at Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Dhaka residence while his daughter, Sheikh Hasina, was addressing the public online.
Following social media calls for a “bulldozer rally,” thousands gathered in Dhanmondi and demolished Mujibur Rahman’s residence. The protests and destruction continued through the morning.
According to Haanji Radio, violent incidents were also reported from other parts of Bangladesh, where Sheikh Hasina’s relatives’ homes were attacked. In Khulna city, the residences of Sheikh Helal Uddin and Sheikh Salauddin Jewel were destroyed.
At Dhaka University, protesters removed the name of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall. Other local leaders’ houses were also targeted.
Reports confirm that late Wednesday night, the residence of Sheikh Hasina’s late husband, Wazed Miah, “Sudha Sadan,” was set on fire. Following the removal of Hasina’s government on August 5, this residence had remained vacant.
ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ਼ਾਹਬਾਜ਼ ਸ਼ਰੀਫ਼ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਭਾਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੱਲ ਲੱਭਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਜ਼ੱਫਰਾਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਕਬੂਜ਼ਾ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਦੀ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਇਜਲਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀਪੂਰਨ ਹੱਲ ਦੀ ਪੱਖਦਾਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਸ਼ਰੀਫ਼ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਧਾਰਾ 370 ਰੱਦ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੁੱਦਾ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ 5 ਅਗਸਤ 2019 ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਹਟ ਕੇ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਅਦੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਰਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ 1999 ਦੇ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਐਲਾਨਨਾਮੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਰਤਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਵਲ ਵਧਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਖ਼ਿੱਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਵੇਗੀ, ਸਗੋਂ ਤਣਾਅ ਵਧੇਗਾ। ਸ਼ਰੀਫ਼ ਨੇ ਦੋਹਰਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਮਕਬੂਜ਼ਾ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਨੈਤਿਕ, ਕੂਟਨੀਤਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਹਮਾਇਤ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਖੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਦਾ ਇਕੋ-ਇਕ ਹੱਲ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਸਲਾਮਤੀ ਪਰਿਸ਼ਦ ਦੇ ਮਤੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਦਮੁਖਤਿਆਰੀ ਦਾ ਹੱਕ ਦੇਣਾ ਹੈ।
Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan wants to resolve all issues, including Kashmir, through dialogue with India. Speaking at a special session of the legislative assembly of occupied Kashmir in Muzaffarabad, he emphasized that Pakistan has always advocated for a peaceful solution.
Sharif criticized India’s decision to revoke Article 370, stating that India should move beyond its August 5, 2019, stance and fulfill its commitments made to the United Nations. He referred to the 1999 Lahore Agreement, emphasizing that both countries should focus on development and regional peace through negotiations.
He accused India of stockpiling weapons, arguing that this will not bring peace to the region but rather increase tensions. Sharif reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue to support the people of occupied Kashmir politically, diplomatically, and morally. He concluded by saying that the only solution to the Kashmir issue is granting self-determination under UN resolutions.

A tragic school shooting in Sweden has left 11 people dead, including the attacker, in a mass shooting in Sweden at an educational institute in Stockholm. Five people have been critically injured, with authorities fearing the death toll might rise.
The attacker's motive remains unknown, as such incidents at educational institutions in Sweden are extremely rare, causing panic in the area. The police reported that five victims, including three women, are undergoing treatment at Örebro University Hospital in critical but stable condition.
The institution, Campus Risbergska, offers primary and middle education for students over 20 years old, Swedish language courses for immigrants, and special education programs. Sweden’s Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer called the Sweden school shooting a shocking event that has shaken society. The Stockholm shooting occurred in the afternoon after students had left following their national exams.

Under the U.S. government’s strict policy against illegal immigration, 104 Indian deportees, including 30 Punjabis, were flown back to India today. They landed at Amritsar airport, arriving via a special U.S. military aircraft, the C-17.
Among those deported, 33 were from Gujarat, 35 from Haryana, and others from Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. The flight, which landed at Amritsar airport, also carried U.S. officials and crew members. Reports confirm that among the 30 deported Punjabis, individuals belonged to cities like Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, and others.
Many of these young men had fallen prey to agents in Dubai, paying ₹30-40 lakh to enter the U.S. illegally. Upon arrival, they were kept in a separate area for immigration clearance at Amritsar airport.
According to reports, the U.S. has identified over 18,000 illegal Indian immigrants who lack proper documentation. Many had crossed the borders illegally, while others had overstayed on tourist visas.

Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has reserved its verdict in the 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots case involving the murder of Jaswant Singh and his son Tarundeep Singh in Saraswati Vihar. ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ (ਐਸਜੀਪੀਸੀ) ਨੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਸਿਰਸਾ ਮੁਖੀ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਹੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਦੇਣ 'ਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਐਸਜੀਪੀਸੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਾਮੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਦੋਹਰੀ ਨੀਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਫਾਇਦੇ ਲਈ ਰਾਮ ਰਹੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਰ-ਵਾਰ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜਦਕਿ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੇਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਬੰਦੀ ਸਿੰਘਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਧਾਮੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਲਾਭ ਲਈ ਰਾਮ ਰਹੀਮ ਦੇ ਘਿਨਾਉਣੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਜ਼ਰਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim has been granted parole once again, this time for 30 days. He is currently serving a 20-year sentence in Rohtak's Sunaria Jail, Haryana, for the rape of two female followers. This marks his 12th parole in the last four years. The parole has been granted just a week before the Delhi Assembly elections and ahead of the Haryana municipal elections. Ram Rahim was released from Sunaria Jail under tight security.
After being convicted in August 2017 for raping two female devotees, this is the first time he has been allowed to visit the Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters in Sirsa, where he will stay for ten days. Following this, he will reside in Barnawa, located in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district. The parole has been granted just days before the Delhi elections scheduled for February 5. Last year, he was granted 20 days of parole on October 5, just four days before the Haryana Assembly elections. Prior to that, the Haryana government had granted him 21 days of parole in August last year.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has strongly opposed the parole granted to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim. SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami stated that this decision reflects the government's double standards. He said that Ram Rahim is being repeatedly granted parole for political gains, while Bandi Singhs, who have completed their sentences, remain imprisoned in various jails across the country. Advocate Dhami accused the BJP government of ignoring Ram Rahim's heinous crimes for political benefits.
ਅੱਜ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਡੈਲਫਟ ਟਾਪੂ ਨੇੜੇ ਸ੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ ਦੀ ਜਲ ਸੈਨਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮਛੇਰੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਜਿਸ 'ਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ਗੀ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਵਾਈ। ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਈ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਲਬ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ 'ਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਿਰਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਕਤ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਡੈਲਫਟ ਟਾਪੂ ਨੇੜੇ 13 ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮਛੇਰੇ ਮੱਛੀ ਫੜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ ਦੀ ਨੌਸੈਨਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਦੋ ਮਛੇਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਫਨਾ ਟੀਚਿੰਗ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਦਕਿ ਤਿੰਨ ਹੋਰ ਮਛੇਰੇ ਹਲਕੀਆਂ ਸੱਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਚ ਗਏ।
ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕੌਂਸੁਲੇਟ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਮਛੇਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ 'ਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਮਦਦ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿਲਾਇਆ। ਸ੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮਛੇਰੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਜਲ ਸੀਮਾ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੱਛੀ ਫੜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਬਤ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਗਈ।

This morning, near Delft Island, the Sri Lankan Navy opened fire on Indian fishermen, leaving five of them seriously injured. India reacted strongly, summoning the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi and registering a strong protest.
India clearly stated that the use of force is unacceptable under any circumstances. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Sri Lanka's navy fired at 13 Indian fishermen who were engaged in fishing near Delft Island. Two of them suffered critical injuries and were immediately taken to Jaffna Teaching Hospital, while three others sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment.
Officials from the Indian Consulate in Jaffna visited the injured fishermen at the hospital, ensuring their well-being and offering full assistance. The Sri Lankan Navy claimed that the fishermen had allegedly crossed the international maritime boundary and entered Sri Lankan waters illegally, leading to their arrest and the seizure of their fishing boat.
The Indian High Commission in Colombo also raised this matter with the Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry. Additionally, Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy wrote to India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, urging immediate action for the release of the Indian fishermen.

The accountability court had previously sentenced Imran Khan to 14 years and Bushra Bibi to 7 years in jail. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) released a statement through Haanji Radio, mentioning that their legal team filed an appeal in Islamabad High Court against the verdict. PTI emphasized that the case was politically motivated.
The lawyers argued in court that the verdict violates the fundamental principles of justice and requested the sentences be annulled. On Republic Day, farmers conducted tractor marches across the country to voice their demands. Organized by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), Non-Political Farmers Union, and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha, these marches were aimed at opposing the new agricultural marketing policy and demanding a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP).
Farmers and laborers took to the streets with their tractors and motorcycles to express their agitation. While tractor marches were conducted at the tehsil level by the Samyukta Kisan Morcha, the protesters also blocked silos, toll plazas, and BJP leaders’ offices, demonstrating their discontent. Protesters staged sit-ins in front of shopping malls, demanding that their rights be addressed.
The farmer leaders accused the central government of drafting new policies favoring corporate entities, which could harm farmers' interests. They urged the government to accept all the demands made by farmers and repeal the new agricultural marketing policy immediately.

A heart-wrenching train accident in Pachora near Jalgaon district of Maharashtra has increased the death toll to 13. According to the police, the incident occurred when the Mumbai-bound Pushpak Express was stopped after someone pulled the chain. During this, some passengers got down onto the tracks and were hit by the Karnataka Express.
Railway officials visited the site of the accident and immediately provided assistance to the injured. Jalgaon authorities stated that 11 of the deceased have been identified, among which 7 were residents of Nepal. Meanwhile, the railways have initiated a safety review of the incident.
The injured were also provided additional financial assistance for treatment at the hospital. A railway spokesperson clarified that there is no evidence of any fire or sparks inside the coaches leading to the alarm being triggered.

Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, currently detained under the National Security Act (NSA) in Assam's Dibrugarh Jail, has filed a petition in Punjab and Haryana High Court. Through the petition, Amritpal has sought permission to attend the Parliament session and the Republic Day ceremony on January 26.
In his petition, Amritpal argued that due to his prolonged absence, the voices of 1.9 million voters from Khadoor Sahib constituency are not being heard in Parliament. He claimed that his arrest was politically motivated, aiming to suppress his growing popularity. Arrest warrants issued in March 2023 were described as attempts to hinder his political rise. Later, new detention orders were issued in March 2024 based on alleged unauthorized items found in jail and social media posts.
Amritpal Singh termed these actions weak and unconstitutional, stating that they violate not only his constitutional rights but also the rights of his voters. He appealed to the court for interim bail and a quick resolution of pending cases.
On January 9, Amritpal's father, Tarsem Singh, criticized the imposition of UAPA and called it a conspiracy to prevent the family from forming a political party.

At present, Punjab MP Amritpal Singh from Khadoor Sahib is detained under the National Security Act (NSA) in Assam’s Dibrugarh Jail. He has filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, seeking permission to attend the Parliament session on January 26 and participate in Republic Day celebrations.
In his petition, Amritpal Singh argued that his prolonged absence from Parliament is affecting the voice of his 19 lakh voters. He claimed that his detention is politically motivated and aimed at curbing his growing popularity.
The detention orders issued in March 2023 have been extended multiple times. A fresh order was issued in March 2024, citing alleged possession of unauthorized items in jail and social media posts. Amritpal Singh has called these reasons weak and unconstitutional.
The Khadoor Sahib MP further argued that his detention violates not only his constitutional rights but also the rights of voters in his constituency. He has urged the court to grant him interim release and take an immediate decision on the pending case.

The 15th annual Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) is excited to announce that Australian Indigenous singer-songwriter Mitch Tambo will perform live with renowned Indian singer Sona Mohapatra at the annual IFFM Awards Night, held at the Palais Theatre on 16 August.
This special perfor mance is produced by celebrated music composer and producer Ram Sampath who is riding high on his latest hit "Sajni Re" from the film "Laapataa Ladies," which became a sensation, topping charts across leading music platforms. The collaboration with Mitch and Sona aims to promote unity through music, bridging cultural and historical gaps between India and Australia.
Sona Mohapatra previously attended IFFM in 2022. Her critically acclaimed documentary "Shut Up Sona"won the Best Documentary Film Award at IFFM.
Sona shared her excitement about the collaboration and upcoming performance: "Music is a universallanguage that transcends borders and cultures. This collaboration is a celebration of our shared heritageand the power of music to bring people together. I am thrilled to be part of this unique project and to perform live at IFFM 2024."

Afghan pop singer and women rights activist, Aryana Sayeed (pictured left), will be in attendance. Sayeed was deeply moved by the film SETERA in the My Melbourne anthology, and she has recorded a song which features in the film, making its world premiere at the IFFM Opening Night. Sayeed won the Afghan Icon Award in 2019 and was named the 2017 Best Female Artist of Afghanistan. She also received the title "Voice of Afghanistan" from the Afghanistan National Television and Radio Network and has also received awards for Best Song of the Year, Best Video of the Year, and a Bravery Award.
