ਸ਼੍ਰੇਅਸ ਅੱਈਅਰ ਦੀ ਕਪਤਾਨੀ 'ਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਿੰਗਜ਼ 11 ਸਾਲ ਬਾਅਦ IPL ਫਾਈਨਲ 'ਚ
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਿੰਗਜ਼ ਨੇ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਅਸ ਅੱਈਅਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਬਦੌਲਤ ਮੁੰਬਈ ਇੰਡੀਅਨਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾਕੇ 11 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਬਾਅਦ IPL ਫਾਈਨਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਬਣਾਈ। ਹੁਣ ਉਹ 3 ਜੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਰੌਇਲ ਚੈਲੇਂਜਰਜ਼ ਬੰਗਲੂਰੂ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਖਿਤਾਬ ਲਈ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕਰੇਗੀ।
ਅਹਿਮਦਾਬਾਦ ਦੇ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਸਟੇਡੀਅਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਏ IPL 2025 ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਕੁਆਲੀਫਾਇਰ ਮੈਚ ਵਿੱਚ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਿੰਗਜ਼ ਨੇ ਮੁੰਬਈ ਇੰਡੀਅਨਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾਕੇ 11 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਬਣਾਈ। ਕਪਤਾਨ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਅਸ ਅੱਈਅਰ ਨੇ 41 ਗੇਂਦਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਨਾਬਾਦ 87 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ 8 ਛੱਕੇ ਅਤੇ 5 ਚੌਕੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਬਦੌਲਤ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ 204 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਦਾ ਟੀਚਾ 19ਵੇਂ ਓਵਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਮੁੰਬਈ ਇੰਡੀਅਨਜ਼ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ 203/6 ਦਾ ਸਕੋਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੂਰਿਆਕੁਮਾਰ ਯਾਦਵ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਲਕ ਵਰਮਾ ਨੇ 44-44 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਦੀ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਜ਼ਮਤੁੱਲਾ ਉਮਰਜ਼ਈ ਨੇ 2 ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਲਈ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਢੀਲੀ ਰਹੀ, ਪਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਅਸ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਹਲ ਵਢੇਰਾ (48 ਦੌੜਾਂ) ਨੇ ਚੌਥੀ ਵਿਕਟ ਲਈ 84 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਈਵਾਲੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ। ਸ਼੍ਰੇਅਸ ਨੇ 19ਵੇਂ ਓਵਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ 26 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਗੇਂਦ 'ਤੇ ਛੱਕਾ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਜਿੱਤ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ।

In the IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, Punjab Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by five wickets to reach the final after 11 years. Captain Shreyas Iyer played a stellar innings, scoring an unbeaten 87 runs off 41 balls, including eight sixes and five fours, leading his team to chase down the target of 204 runs in the 19th over.
Mumbai Indians had earlier posted a total of 203/6, with significant contributions from Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma, both scoring 44 runs. Azmatullah Omarzai took two wickets for Punjab.
Despite a shaky start, Punjab's innings stabilized with a crucial 84-run partnership between Shreyas Iyer and Nehal Wadhera (48 runs). Iyer's aggressive batting in the 19th over, where he scored 26 runs off Ashwani Kumar, sealed the victory with a six on the final ball of the over.
This win marks Punjab Kings' first appearance in the IPL final since 2014. They will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru on June 3 in the quest for their maiden IPL title.
