ਰੋਪੜ ਰੇਂਜ ਨੂੰ ਨਵਾਂ ਡੀਆਈਜੀ: ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਰੋਪੜ ਰੇਂਜ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਡੀਆਈਜੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਰੇਂਜ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਸਨ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਡੀਆਈਜੀ ਹਰਚਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਨੂੰ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀਬੀਆਈ ਨੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਲੰਮਬਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਦੀਪ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੂੰ ਡੀਆਈਜੀ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਰੇਂਜ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਏਜੀਟੀਐਫ਼ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਏਆਈਜੀ ਸਨ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਰੋਪੜ ਰੇਂਜ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਡੀਆਈਜੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਆਈਪੀਐਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਨਾਨਕ ਸਿੰਘ 2011 ਬੈਚ ਦੇ ਆਈਪੀਐਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਰੇਂਜ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਡੀਆਈਜੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਰੋਪੜ ਰੇਂਜ ਦੇ ਡੀਆਈਜੀ ਹਰਚਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀਬੀਆਈ ਨੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਹਰਚਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁੱਲਰ 2009 ਬੈਚ ਦੇ ਆਈਪੀਐਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੁਪਨਗਰ ਰੇਂਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੰਬਰ 2024 ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਸੀਬੀਆਈ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਫ਼ਤੇਹਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਲੋਹੇ ਦੇ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ 8 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਰਿਸ਼ਵਤ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਲੰਮਬਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ। ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸੀਬੀਆਈ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲਗਭਗ 5 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਨਕਦ, 1.5 ਕਿਲੋ ਸੋਨਾ, ਲਗਜ਼ਰੀ ਕਾਰਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਆਡੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਰਸੀਡੀਜ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਾਬੀਆਂ, 22 ਮਹਿੰਗੀਆਂ ਘੜੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਜ਼ਬਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਅਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੈਤਿਕਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਉਠਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ, ਏਜੀਟੀਐਫ਼ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਏਆਈਜੀ ਸੰਦੀਪ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੂੰ ਡੀਆਈਜੀ ਏਜੀਟੀਐਫ਼ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਾ ਕੇ ਡੀਆਈਜੀ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਰੇਂਜ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਸੌਂਪੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਸੰਦੀਪ ਗੋਇਲ 2011 ਬੈਚ ਦੇ ਆਈਪੀਐਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਏਜੀਟੀਐਫ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਗਰੂਹਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕਾਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ। ਇਹ ਟਰਾਂਸਫਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੈਤਿਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹਨ।
The Punjab government has appointed senior IPS officer Nanak Singh as the new DIG of Ropar Range. Nanak Singh, a 2011-batch IPS officer, was previously posted as DIG of Border Range Amritsar. Previously, Harcharan Singh Bhullar was the DIG of Ropar Range, who was arrested by the CBI in a corruption case in recent days. Harcharan Singh Bhullar, a 2009-batch IPS officer, was appointed to the Rupnagar Range in November 2024. The CBI arrested him on charges of taking an Rs 8 lakh bribe from an iron trader linked to Fatehgarh Sahib. After the arrest, the Punjab government has suspended him, and he is currently in jail. During the arrest, the CBI seized approximately Rs 5 crore in cash, 1.5 kg of gold, luxury cars like Audi and Mercedes keys, 22 expensive watches, and other lavish items from locations associated with him. This case highlights massive unexplained assets related to corruption and raises questions about ethics in the Punjab Police.
In a related change, AIG Sandeep Goel of AGTF Ludhiana has been transferred from DIG AGTF Punjab to take charge of DIG Border Range Amritsar. Sandeep Goel, a 2011-batch IPS officer, was previously playing a key role in operations against criminal gangs in AGTF. This reshuffle has been made to address new challenges in the Punjab Police, especially to strengthen security in the border areas. These transfers are part of the Punjab government's efforts to enhance ethics and performance in the police department.
