ਭਾਰਤ 'ਚ ਚੀਨੀ GPS ਟਰੈਕਰ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਪੰਛੀ ਮਿਲਣ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਚੌਕਸ

ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਸਥਾਨਕ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੀਚ ਨੇੜੇ ਥਿੰਮੱਕਾ ਗਾਰਡਨ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਅਜੀਬ ਟੈਗ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀਗਲ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਜੰਗਲਾਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ 'ਤੇ ਲੱਗੇ GPS ਟਰੈਕਰ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ 'ਤੇ 'ਚੀਨੀ ਅਕੈਡਮੀ ਆਫ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼' ਦੇ 'ਰਿਸਰਚ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਫਾਰ ਈਕੋ-ਐਨਵਾਇਰਨਮੈਂਟਲ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼' ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਪਾਏ ਗਏ।
ਕਾਰਵਾਰ ਟਾਊਨ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਜਾਸੂਸੀ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਖੋਜ ਵੱਲ ਇਸ਼ਾਰਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਟਰੈਕਰ ਸੀਗਲਜ਼ ਦੀ ਹਰਕਤ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਦੇ ਪੈਟਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਵਾਸ ਦੇ ਰੂਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਲਈ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਫਿਲਹਾਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਸੂਸੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸਬੂਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਰਣਨੀਤਕ ਪੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਸਾਵਧਾਨੀ ਵਰਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
The discovery of a Chinese-made GPS tracking device attached to a seagull bird along the Karwar coast in Uttara Kannada district, Karnataka, initially sparked security concerns. The incident occurred near a strategically sensitive naval area, prompting security agencies and the forest department to launch an immediate probe.
According to reports, local residents spotted the seagull with an unusual tag near Thimmakka Garden on Wednesday and alerted the forest department. Upon capturing the bird and inspecting the GPS tracker, officials found markings belonging to the 'Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences' under the 'Chinese Academy of Sciences'.
Karwar Town Police have clarified that the preliminary investigation suggests scientific research rather than espionage. The tracker appears to have been deployed to study the movements, feeding patterns, and migration routes of seagulls. Authorities have assured that no evidence of espionage has been found so far; however, they remain vigilant due to the strategic importance of the coastal region.
