October brings the essence of love, light, and laughter through Diwali, a grand event celebrated in India with lamps and crackers. Our Australian Punjabi news channel was delighted to be part of this year’s Diwali celebration at Federation Square.
Diwali Celebration At Federation Square
The most anticipated celebration of the year for the Indian community is Diwali. This event has become synonymous with light, sound, and sweets. This year’s Diwali celebration succeeded in bringing the traditional Indian cultural vibe to life. Attendees came to participate in the event in their traditional best.
Food & Fun
Food is one of the attractions of every Indian festival. Diwali celebration is not immune to this. The Australian Punjabi news channel found a long list of Indian stress food arrangements for everyone to enjoy. The event started early at around 11 am with a high vibe and Diwali spirit. People came to experience the rich traditional culture of India.
Magnificent Performances
Diwali is never complete without music and dances. This year, Federation Square hosted a series of performances that uplifted the festive spirit. While Bollywood dance performances were the key attraction of the event, people also swayed with the live music with equal delight. A unique circus act had been organised for the attendees to enjoy.
Fireworks & Light
Diwali brings colour and light to people’s lives. This is why, this event is always celebrated with lamps and fireworks. Federation Square made it a point to capture the authentic Diwali vibe by organising a grand fireworks display. Attendees stayed back to watch the fireworks after the sunset.
Other Attractions
