ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਭੂਚਾਲ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਕੇਂਦਰ (NCS) ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਭੂਚਾਲ ਦੀ ਡੂੰਘਾਈ 130 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਭੂਚਾਲ ਦੇ ਝਟਕੇ ਜੰਮੂ-ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ-ਐਨਸੀਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ, ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਜਾਨੀ ਜਾਂ ਮਾਲੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੀ।
ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਝਟਕੇ ਇਸਲਾਮਾਬਾਦ, ਲਾਹੌਰ, ਪੇਸ਼ਾਵਰ, ਰਾਵਲਪਿੰਡੀ ਅਤੇ ਖ਼ੈਬਰ ਪਖ਼ਤੂਨਖ਼ਵਾ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ। ਖ਼ੈਬਰ ਪਖ਼ਤੂਨਖ਼ਵਾ ਦੇ ਹੇਠਲੇ ਦੀਰ, ਬਾਜੌਰ, ਮਲਕੰਦ, ਨੌਸ਼ੇਰਾ, ਦੀਰ ਬਾਲਾ, ਸ਼ਬਕਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹਮੰਦ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਜ਼ ਝਟਕੇ ਆਏ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਵਸਨੀਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਫੈਲ ਗਈ।

On Saturday, April 19, 2025, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border, with tremors felt across Pakistan and northern India. According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), the earthquake occurred at a depth of 92 kilometers.
India's National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported the quake's depth at 130 kilometers. Tremors were experienced in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and the Delhi-NCR region, but no immediate reports of casualties or property damage have emerged.
In Pakistan, the tremors were felt in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The strongest tremors were reported in Lower Dir, Bajaur, Malakand, Nowshera, Dir Bala, Shabqadar, and Mohmand regions, causing panic among residents.
This earthquake marks the second seismic event in Pakistan within a week, indicating increased seismic activity in the region.
