ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਚਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੰਨੀ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਫ਼ਵਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਖਾਰਜ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਦਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਚੰਨੀ ਨੇ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਸੱਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਜਜ਼ਬਾਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤੀ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ
