ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਸਕੀਮ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਚੱਕਾ ਜਾਮ, ਕਈ ਆਗੂ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ
ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਸਕੀਮ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੀਆਰਟੀਸੀ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਰੋਡਵੇਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਪਨਬਸ ਕੰਟਰੈਕਟ ਵਰਕਰ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੂਬਾ ਵਿਆਪੀ ਹੜਤਾਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਚੱਕਾ ਜਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਈ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਤਮਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਧਮਕੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਰੋਸ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਮ ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਵਾਜਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਿਆ।
ਪਟਿਆਲਾ/ਬਠਿੰਡਾ: ਪੰਜਾਬ ਰੋਡਵੇਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਪਨਬਸ ਕੰਟਰੈਕਟ ਵਰਕਰ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਸਕੀਮ (Kilometer Scheme) ਦੀਆਂ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਜ ਸੂਬਾ ਵਿਆਪੀ ਹੜਤਾਲ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਤੜਕੇ ਹੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਭਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਬੱਸਾਂ (Government Buses)ਦਾ ਚੱਕਾ ਜਾਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਥਾਂ-ਥਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਤਿੱਖੇ ਧਰਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ (Protests) ਲਗਾਏ ਗਏ, ਜੋ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਗਹਿਰੇ ਲਗਾਵ (Attachment) ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਪੀਆਰਟੀਸੀ (PRTC) ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸਮੇਤ ਕਈ ਬੱਸ ਅੱਡਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਲਾਬੰਦੀ (Lockdown) ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸਮੇਤ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ (Detained) ਸੀ। ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਦੇ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਕਦਮ ਨੂੰ 'ਜਬਰ' ਦੱਸਦਿਆਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ। ਹਾਲਾਤ ਉਦੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਤਣਾਅਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਜਦੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਤਮਦਾਹ (Self-immolation) ਦੀ ਧਮਕੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਤਹਿਤ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਈ ਆਗੂ ਪੈਟਰੋਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੋਤਲਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਛੱਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਓਵਰਬ੍ਰਿਜ 'ਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਏ।
ਇਸ ਚੱਕਾ ਜਾਮ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਮ ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ (Commuters) ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਿਆ। ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ, ਰਾਜਪੁਰਾ, ਦਿੱਲੀ, ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ, ਫ਼ਰੀਦਕੋਟ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਸਾ ਵੱਲ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਆਵਾਜਾਈ (Traffic Disruption) ਬੁਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਹੋਈ। ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਣਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਨੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਸਕੀਮ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਭਰਾਤਰੀ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਤਿੱਖਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਬੰਧਨ (Bonding) ਕਾਫੀ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਹੈ।
Patiala/Bathinda: The Punjab Roadways and PunBus Contract Workers Union initiated a statewide strike today in strong protest against the inclusion of Kilometer Scheme (ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਸਕੀਮ) buses. Consequently, Government Busesacross Punjab came to a complete halt (ਚੱਕਾ ਜਾਮ) early Friday morning, leading to intense Protests (ਧਰਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ) in various locations, which reflects the workers' deep Attachment to their jobs and rights. During this struggle, several bus stations, including Patiala, the main office city of PRTC, have been placed under Lockdown.
The employees stated that prior to the commencement of the protests, several union Leaders were Detained by the police in Patiala and other areas of Punjab. The Union's spokesperson strongly protested this action, calling it 'oppression,' and announced that their struggle has now gained support from other Government Employees. The situation became more tense when protestors issued a Self-immolation threat against the arrests of their fellow workers. In both Patiala and Bathinda, several Leaders climbed onto the roofs of buses and water tanks carrying bottles of petrol.
Due to this Punjab Bus Strike (ਚੱਕਾ ਜਾਮ), general Commuters faced severe difficulties. Traffic Disruption was intense on routes heading towards Chandigarh, Rajpura, Delhi, Ludhiana, Faridkot, and Mansa. In Bathinda, the police Detainedseveral protesting Leaders and sent them to various police stations. The Union strongly asserted that the Kilometer Scheme is against the interests of the employees and warned that if their arrested colleagues are not released immediately and their demands regarding the Kilometer Scheme are not met, they will intensify this struggle further by involving their allied organizations, highlighting the strong Bonding among the workers.
