ਡੇਰਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਮੁਖੀ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਹੀਮ ਨੂੰ 14ਵੀਂ ਵਾਰ 40 ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਪੈਰੋਲ
ਡੇਰਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਹੀਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ 40 ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਮਿਲੀ, ਜੋ 2017 ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸ ਦੀ 14ਵੀਂ ਅਸਥਾਈ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਿਰਸਾ ਦੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ 58ਵਾਂ ਜਨਮ ਦਿਨ ਮਨਾਏਗਾ, ਪਰ ਵੱਡੇ ਇਕੱਠਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਡੇਰਾ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਠਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ’ਤੇ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਜਤਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਡੇਰਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਹੀਮ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜੋ ਰੋਹਤਕ ਦੀ ਸੁਨਾਰੀਆ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਬਰ ਜਨਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਕਤਲ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ 20 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਕੱਟ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਨੂੰ 40 ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਮਿਲੀ। ਇਹ 2017 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ 14ਵੀਂ ਵਾਰ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਥਾਈ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ। ਸਵੇਰੇ 6 ਵਜੇ, ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਹੀਮ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਨਾਰੀਆ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਤ ਐੱਸਯੂਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਫਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਰਸਾ ਸਥਿਤ ਡੇਰਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਦਫਤਰ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ। ਉਥੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੀੜ ਨਾ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਭਰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਡੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਮੰਨੋ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖੋ।”
ਇਸ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਹੀਮ 15 ਅਗਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ 58ਵਾਂ ਜਨਮ ਦਿਨ ਸਿਰਸਾ ਦੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨਾਏਗਾ, ਜੋ 2017 ਵਿੱਚ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਇਕੱਠਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਿਰਫ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਜਾਂ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਮਾਧਿਅਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਨੁਯਾਈਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਡੇਰਾ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਜਤਿੰਦਰ ਖੁਰਾਣਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਸਜ਼ਾਯਾਫਤਾ ਕੈਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ 70 ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਅਤੇ 21 ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਫਰਲੋ ਦਾ ਹੱਕ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਚੋਣ ਜਾਂ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਕ ਸਰਗਰਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੁੜਿਆ।
ਗੁਰਮੀਤ ਰਾਮ ਰਹੀਮ ਨੂੰ 2017 ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਸਾਧਵੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਬਰ ਜਨਾਹ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ 20 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ 2019 ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਰਾਮ ਚੰਦਰ ਛਤਰਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਕਤਲ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਮਰ ਕੈਦ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, 2021 ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਬੇਅਦਬੀ ਦੇ 107 ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਸਬੂਤ ਮਿਲਣ ਦਾ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਅਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਐਫਆਈਆਰ ਦਰਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਅੱਠ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਅਤੇ ਫਰਲੋ ਮਿਲੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ 2020 ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ, 2021 ਵਿੱਚ 12 ਘੰਟੇ, ਅਤੇ 2022 ਤੋਂ 2025 ਤੱਕ ਕਈ ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਛੁੱਟੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਸਾਲ, ਉਹ ਜਨਵਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ 30 ਦਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਪਰੈਲ ਵਿੱਚ 21 ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਫਰਲੋ ’ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਸੀ। ਡੇਰਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਦੀ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ, ਪੰਜਾਬ, ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੁਯਾਈ ਹਨ, ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਿਰਸਾ, ਫਤਿਹਾਬਾਦ, ਕੁਰੂਕਸ਼ੇਤਰ, ਕੈਥਲ ਅਤੇ ਹਿਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ। ਇਸ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਠਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਜਤਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਦਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੈਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਹਨ।
Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the chief of Dera Sacha Sauda, who is serving a 20-year sentence in Rohtak’s Sunaria jail for rape and murder cases, was granted a 40-day parole. This marks the 14th time he has been temporarily released since his conviction in 2017. At 6 AM, Gurmeet Ram Rahim left Sunaria jail under tight police security and reached the Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters in Sirsa in a convoy of seven SUVs. Upon arrival, he released a video message urging his followers not to gather in large numbers and to follow the guidance of the Dera management. He said, “You all attend our service, so I humbly request you to follow the Dera management’s instructions and continue your good work.”
During this parole, Gurmeet Ram Rahim will celebrate his 58th birthday on August 15 at the Sirsa Dera, the first time since his 2017 conviction. However, the administration has prohibited large gatherings, allowing him to connect with his followers only through video or online platforms. Dera spokesperson Jatinder Khurana stated that the parole was granted legally, as every convict has the right to 70 days of parole and 21 days of furlough annually. He clarified that this parole is not linked to any elections or political activities.
Gurmeet Ram Rahim was convicted in 2017 for raping two female disciples and sentenced to 20 years in prison, and in 2019, he received life imprisonment for the murder of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati. Additionally, in 2021, Punjab Police claimed evidence of his involvement in 107 cases of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib, though no formal FIR has been filed yet. Over the past eight years, he has been granted multiple paroles and furloughs, including one day in 2020, 12 hours in 2021, and several months from 2022 to 2025. This year, he was released for 30 days in January and 21 days in April. Dera Sacha Sauda has a large following in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and other states, particularly in Sirsa, Fatehabad, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, and Hisar. Sikh organizations have raised objections to this parole, while the government maintains that all convicts have equal rights.
