ਐਂਟੀ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਟਾਸਕ ਫੋਰਸ (ਏਜੀਟੀਐਫ) ਅਤੇ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਆਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੇ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਰਫ਼ ਸੱਪ ਨੂੰ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਭਗਵਾਨਪੁਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ .32 ਬੋਰ ਪਿਸਤੌਲ ਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਕਾਰਤੂਸ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਰੰਮੀ ਮਛਾਣਾ ਦਾ ਕਰੀਬੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕਤਲ, ਅਸਲਾ ਐਕਟ ਤੇ ਐਨਡੀਪੀਐਸ ਐਕਟ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਕਈ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦਰਜ ਹਨ। ਡੀਜੀਪੀ ਗੌਰਵ ਯਾਦਵ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਲਈ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਜਾਂਚ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਸੂਬਾ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਰੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਐਂਟੀ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਟਾਸਕ ਫੋਰਸ (ਏਜੀਟੀਐਫ), ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੇ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਆਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਬੰਗੀ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੇ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਰਫ਼ ਸੱਪ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਅੱਜ ਇਥੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਜਨਰਲ ਆਫ਼ ਪੁਲੀਸ (ਡੀਜੀਪੀ) ਪੰਜਾਬ ਗੌਰਵ ਯਾਦਵ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਪੁਲੀਸ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਦੇ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ .32 ਬੋਰ ਪਿਸਤੌਲ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਕਾਰਤੂਸ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ। ਡੀਜੀਪੀ ਗੌਰਵ ਯਾਦਵ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਕਤ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਰੰਮੀ ਮਛਾਣਾ ਦਾ ਕਰੀਬੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋੜੀਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰੋਂ 130 ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਹੈਰੋਇਨ, ਛੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਕਾਰਤੂਸ ਸਮੇਤ ਇੱਕ 9 ਮਿਲੀਮੀਟਰ ਦੇਸੀ ਪਿਸਤੌਲ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ .12 ਬੋਰ ਦੇਸੀ ਪਿਸਤੌਲ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਪਰਮਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਭੱਜਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਡੀਜੀਪੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਗਲੇ-ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਹੋਰ ਜਾਂਚ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਆਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਵੇਰਵੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਧੀਕ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਜਨਰਲ ਆਫ਼ ਪੁਲੀਸ (ਏਡੀਜੀਪੀ) ਏਜੀਟੀਐਫ ਪ੍ਰਮੋਦ ਬਾਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਭਰੋਸੇਯੋਗ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਡੀਐਸਪੀ ਏਜੀਟੀਐਫ ਰਾਜਨ ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਏਜੀਟੀਐਫ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨਾਲ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਰਫ਼ ਸੱਪ ਨੂੰ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਭਗਵਾਨਪੁਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸੁਪਰਡੈਂਟ ਆਫ਼ ਪੁਲੀਸ (ਐਸਐਸਪੀ) ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਅਮਨੀਤ ਕੌਂਡਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਰਣਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਕਤਲ, ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਇਰਾਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਣ, ਅਸਲਾ ਐਕਟ, ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਐਕਟ ਅਤੇ ਐਨਡੀਪੀਐਸ ਐਕਟ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦਰਜ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਦੇ ਥਾਣਾ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਐਨਡੀਪੀਐਸ ਐਕਟ ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ 21(ਬੀ) ਅਤੇ ਅਸਲਾ ਐਕਟ ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ 25 ਤਹਿਤ ਐਫਆਈਆਰ ਨੰਬਰ 139 ਮਿਤੀ 20.09.2025 ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਦਰਜ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਦੀ ਐਂਟੀ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਟਾਸਕ ਫੋਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹਾਸਲ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੇ ਅਪਰਾਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰੇਗੀ।
In a major success during the ongoing campaign to make Punjab a safe state as per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Punjab, has arrested the wanted criminal Ranjit Singh alias Sap, associated with Bangi Nihal Singh village in Bathinda, in a joint operation with Bathinda Police. This information was given today by Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here.
The police teams have recovered one illegal .32 bore pistol and four live cartridges from the possession of the accused. DGP Gaurav Yadav said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the said accused is a close associate of gangster Rammi Machhana and was wanted by the police in two criminal cases.
He said that earlier, the police had recovered 130 grams of heroin, one 9 millimeter country-made pistol along with six live cartridges, and one .12 bore country-made pistol from his house. At that time, his mother Parmjeet Kaur was arrested, while the accused managed to escape. The DGP said that further investigation is ongoing to uncover forward and backward linkages in this case.
Sharing details of the operation, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) AGTF Promod Ban said that acting on reliable information, police teams of AGTF led by DSP AGTF Rajan Parminder, in coordination with Bathinda Police, have arrested the accused Ranjit Singh alias Sap from Bhagwanpura village in Bathinda.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bathinda Amneet Kondal said that Ranjit Singh has an old criminal record, against whom several cases of murder, house trespass with intent to cause hurt, Arms Act, Prisons Act, and violation of NDPS Act are registered. In this regard, FIR No. 139 dated 20.09.2025 under Section 21(b) of NDPS Act and Section 25 of Arms Act has already been registered at Sangat police station in Bathinda. This arrest is a major achievement attained through the joint efforts of Punjab Police's Anti-Gangster Task Force and Bathinda Police, which will further strengthen the campaign to nab wanted criminals.
