ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਆਈ.ਪੀ.ਐਸ. ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਅਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਾਹਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖ਼ੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਣਪਛਾਤੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਧੋਖਾਧੜੀ ਦਾ ਕੇਸ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਚਾਹਲ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਠੱਗੀ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਨ। ਫਿਲਹਾਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਸਾਈਬਰ ਸੈੱਲ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁਟੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਆਈ.ਪੀ.ਐਸ. (IPS) ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਅਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਾਹਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖ਼ੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਅਹਿਮ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਧੋਖਾਧੜੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਣਪਛਾਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਦਰਜ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਕੇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲੇ ਖ਼ੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਨੋਟ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਅਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਾਹਲ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖ਼ੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਨੋਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਫਰਾਡ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਧੋਖਾਧੜੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਾਰੀ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਤਣਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ। ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਈਬਰ ਸੈੱਲ ਹੁਣ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੈਂਕ ਖਾਤਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਬਾਈਲ ਨੰਬਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਸ ਠੱਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਜਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਅਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਾਹਲ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦੇ ਸੂਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਨਾਜ਼ੁਕ ਬਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾਕਟਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਇਲਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਉੱਚ ਅਹੁਦੇ 'ਤੇ ਰਹੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਈਬਰ ਠੱਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਸਣਾ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ। ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਾਹਲ 2015 ਦੇ ਬਹੁ-ਚਰਚਿਤ ਫਰੀਦਕੋਟ ਗੋਲੀਕਾਂਡ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਵਜੋਂ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦ ਸਨ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਫਰਾਡ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਫਿਰ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਈਬਰ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਧ ਰਹੇ ਖ਼ਤਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਖਿੱਚਿਆ ਹੈ।
The Patiala Police has taken significant legal action regarding the suicide attempt by former Punjab Police IPS officer Amar Singh Chahal. Following the incident, the police have registered a criminal case against unidentified individuals responsible for the online fraud that targeted him. The FIR was lodged based on the suicide note recovered from the scene and preliminary investigations. Police officials stated that Amar Singh Chahal explicitly mentioned being a victim of an online fraud in his suicide note. This fraud resulted in massive financial loss, causing him to suffer from extreme mental stress over the past few days. The Cyber Cell of the Patiala Police is currently investigating the bank accounts and mobile numbers used to carry out this cyber crime. Regarding his health, hospital sources indicated that Amar Singh Chahal’s condition remains critical. He is currently receiving intensive care at a private hospital in Patiala. The police are treating this case with high priority, as the fact that a retired high-ranking officer fell into the trap of cyber fraudsters is a matter of grave concern. Notably, Amar Singh Chahal was also an accused in the high-profile 2015 Faridkot firing case. The police have assured that the perpetrators of the online fraud will be apprehended soon. This incident has once again highlighted the growing threat of cyber crimes and the importance of online security in the state.
