ਲਾਹੌਰ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਛੱਡਿਆ; ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਗੰਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ
ਲਾਹੌਰ ਨੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾੜ ਕੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਗੰਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਏਕਿਊਆਈ 312 ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮਰੀਅਮ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਸਕ ਪਹਿਨਣ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਦਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਇੱਟ ਭੱਠੇ ਅਤੇ ਫੈਕਟਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਧੁੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਧੂੰਏਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਹਤ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਫਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਦਾ ਹਵਾ ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਸੂਚਕਾਂਕ ਖ਼ਤਰਨਾਕ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਛਾੜ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ। ਆਈਕਿਊਏਅਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਕੜਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਰਾਤ 10 ਵਜੇ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਦਾ ਏਕਿਊਆਈ 312 ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ ਜੋ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਸਿਹਤ ਸੰਗਠਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਪਦੰਡਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਜੋ 220 ਏਕਿਊਆਈ ਨਾਲ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੰਬਰ ਤੇ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਲਕਾਤਾ 170 ਏਕਿਊਆਈ ਨਾਲ ਤੀਜੇ ਨੰਬਰ ਤੇ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਖਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ 22 ਤੋਂ 25 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਤੱਕ ਵੀ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਿਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਧੁੰਦ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਾ ਦੀ ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਖ਼ਤਰਨਾਕ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਡਿੱਗ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਹੁਣ ਵੀ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਧੁੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਦਾ ਪੱਧਰ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਵਧ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਮਾਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਦੇ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਲੋੜੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਹੇਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਪਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਮਾਸਕ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਪਹਿਨਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਪੱਧਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਹ ਲੈਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲ, ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਲਣ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਿਹਤ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਵਧਣ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੀ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮਰੀਅਮ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਧੂੰਏਂ ਦੀ ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਸਰਗਰਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਗੂ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਖਾਸ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੱਠਿਆਂ, ਫੈਕਟਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਧੂੰਆਂ ਛੱਡਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਗਲਾਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀਆਂ ਟੀਮਾਂ 24 ਘੰਟੇ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਤੇ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

The city of Lahore in Pakistan has once again topped the world in pollution. For the past three days, Lahore's air quality index has reached a hazardous level and it has surpassed Delhi. According to IQAir data, Lahore's AQI reached 312 by Monday night at 10 PM, which is far above the World Health Organization standards. This leaves Delhi, with an AQI of 220, in second place and Kolkata with 170 in third.
This is the second time in a week that Lahore has claimed the top spot in pollution. Last week, from October 22 to 25, Lahore was also the world's most polluted city. At that time, smog had completely enveloped the city and air quality had fallen to a dangerous level. Now too, smog and pollution levels in Lahore are continuously rising, posing a serious health threat to residents.
Environmental experts have advised Lahore residents to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities. Especially in the morning and evening, they should refrain from going out and must wear masks if they have to step outside. This high pollution level increases the risk of breathing difficulties, eye irritation, and other health problems.
Punjab's Environment Minister Maryam has appealed to people to stay safe. She said the Punjab government is actively implementing the smog emergency plan. Strict action is being taken especially in Lahore against brick kilns, factories, and smoke-emitting vehicles. Teams from the Environment Department and Forest Department are on 24-hour monitoring duty and are continuously working to stop pollution sources.
The main causes of pollution in Lahore include industrial smoke, vehicle emissions, brick kilns, and seasonal smog. This problem worsens every year during winter and often places Lahore at the top of the world's most polluted cities list.
