ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਡਾਕ ਚੋਰੀ ਕੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ 8 ਭਾਰਤੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ 4 ਲੱਖ ਡਾਲਰ ਦੇ ਚੈੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਰਡ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੇ
ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਪੀਲ ਰੀਜਨਲ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਅਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਨਡਲਿਵਰਡ ਅਧੀਨ 8 ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਿਸੀਸਾਗਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾਕ ਬਕਸੇ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਚੋਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ 465 ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ ਜਿਵੇਂ 255 ਚੈੱਕ, 182 ਕ੍ਰੈਡਿਟ ਕਾਰਡ ਅਤੇ 35 ਪਛਾਣ ਪੱਤਰ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਹੋਏ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ 4 ਲੱਖ ਡਾਲਰ ਹੈ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ 'ਤੇ 344 ਦੋਸ਼ ਆਇਦ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਦਾਲਤੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਇਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 2025 ਤੋਂ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾਕ ਚੋਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ।
ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਓਨਟਾਰੀਓ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੀਲ ਰੀਜਨਲ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਹਾਲਟਨ ਰੀਜਨਲ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਪੋਸਟ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਅਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਨਡਲਿਵਰਡ ਅਧੀਨ ਡਾਕ ਚੋਰੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ 8 ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀਆਂ 8 ਅਤੇ 9 ਸਤੰਬਰ 2025 ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸੀਸਾਗਾ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਛਾਪੇ ਮਾਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਰਾਈਨਬੈਂਕ ਸਟ੍ਰੀਟ, ਬ੍ਰੈਂਡਨ ਗੇਟ ਡਰਾਈਵ, ਡਵਿਗਿਨ ਐਵੇਨਿਊ ਅਤੇ ਕਿੱਟ੍ਰਿਜ ਡਰਾਈਵ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਤਲਾਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਚੋਰੀ ਹੋਏ 465 ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਹੋਏ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 255 ਚੈੱਕ, 182 ਕ੍ਰੈਡਿਟ ਕਾਰਡ, 35 ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਪੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ 20 ਗਿਫਟ ਕਾਰਡ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਲ ਕੀਮਤ 4 ਲੱਖ ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਡਾਲਰ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਲਗਭਗ ਢਾਈ ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਡਾਕ ਬਕਸੇ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਚੋਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਚੋਰੀਆਂ ਪੀਲ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਲਟਨ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੰਮੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੋ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਚੱਠਾ, ਜੱਸ਼ਨਦੀਪ ਜਟਾਣਾ, ਹਰਮਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜੱਸ਼ਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਮਨਰੂਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਉਪਿੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਹਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਲਈ ਕੁੱਲ 344 ਦੋਸ਼ ਆਇਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾਕ ਚੋਰੀ, ਬਕਸੇ ਤੋੜਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਰੀ ਹੋਏ ਸਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੈ। ਅਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਨਡਲਿਵਰਡ ਨੂੰ ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ 2025 ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਪੀਲ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਲਟਨ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾਕ ਚੋਰੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤਾਂ ਆਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰੇਲੂ ਡਾਕ ਬਕਸਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਹੋਈ। ਪੀਲ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਦੇ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਚੋਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪੀਲ ਰੀਜਨਲ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਪੀਲ ਕ੍ਰਾਊਨ ਅਟਾਰਨੀ ਦੇ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਸਰਵਿਸਿਜ਼ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਦਾਲਤੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਾਪਸ ਭੇਜਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਇਹ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਡਾਕ ਚੋਰੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਡਾਕ ਬਕਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਡਾਕ ਨੂੰ ਜਲਦੀ ਚੈੱਕ ਕਰਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਚੋਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਇਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਾਮਦਗੀ ਨੇ ਪੀਲ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਲਟਨ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾਕ ਚੋਰੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਹੱਦ ਤੱਕ ਰੋਕਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਹਤ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
In Ontario, Canada, Peel Regional Police, in collaboration with Halton Regional Police and Canada Post, arrested eight Indian citizens in the mail theft case under Operation Undeliverable. These arrests took place on September 8 and 9, 2025, following raids in various areas of Mississauga, including Rhinebank Street, Brandon Gate Drive, Dwiggin Avenue, and Kittridge Drive. As a result, 465 stolen documents were recovered, including 255 cheques, 182 credit cards, 35 government identification documents, and 20 gift cards, with a total value exceeding 400,000 Canadian dollars, equivalent to approximately 2.5 crore rupees. All these documents were stolen by breaking into people's mailboxes, and these thefts had been occurring for a long time in the Peel and Halton regions.
The arrested individuals include Sumanpreet Singh, Gurdeep Chatha, Jassandeep Jattana, Harman Singh, Jassandeep Singh, Manroop Singh, Upinderjit Singh, and Rajbir Singh, all Indian citizens. They face a total of 344 charges related to various property crimes, including mail theft, breaking mailboxes, and possessing stolen goods. Operation Undeliverable was launched in April 2025 following numerous complaints of mail theft in Peel and Halton regions, targeting residential mailboxes and causing significant disruption to residents. A Peel Police spokesperson stated that this group was operating together, leading to widespread thefts that caused considerable harm to people.
Following this, Peel Regional Police has consulted with the Peel Crown Attorney’s Office and the Canada Border Services Agency to explore removing these accused from Canada during the judicial process, initiating deportation proceedings back to India. This action is being considered due to their status as foreign nationals, ensuring justice in the mail theft case. Police have advised people to secure their mailboxes with locks and check mail promptly to prevent such thefts. These arrests and recoveries have significantly curbed mail theft in Peel and Halton regions, providing relief to residents.
