ਡੋਨਲਡ ਟਰੰਪ ਦਾ ਬੀਬੀਸੀ 'ਤੇ 10 ਅਰਬ ਡਾਲਰ ਦਾ ਮਾਣਹਾਨੀ ਕੇਸ: ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਨਾਲ ਛੇੜਛਾੜ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਲਾਇਆ ਦੋਸ਼
ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਡੋਨਲਡ ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਕ ਬੀਬੀਸੀ (BBC) 'ਤੇ 10 ਅਰਬ ਡਾਲਰ ਦਾ ਮਾਣਹਾਨੀ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਠੋਕਿਆ ਹੈ। ਟਰੰਪ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੀਬੀਸੀ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ 6 ਜਨਵਰੀ 2021 ਦੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਨੂੰ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਕਸ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨੂੰ 2024 ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਡੋਨਲਡ ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਬੀਬੀਸੀ (BBC) ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਮਾਣਹਾਨੀ ਦਾ ਮੁਕੱਦਮਾ ਦਾਇਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ 10 ਅਰਬ ਡਾਲਰ ਦੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਹਰਜਾਨੇ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮਾਣਹਾਨੀ ਕੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਸੰਸਥਾ 'ਤੇ ਧੋਖਾਧੜੀ ਅਤੇ ਗੈਰਵਾਜਬ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਅਭਿਆਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਦੋਸ਼ ਵੀ ਲਗਾਏ ਹਨ।
ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ 33 ਸਫ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੀਬੀਸੀ ਨੇ ਜਾਣਬੁੱਝ ਕੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਟਰੰਪ ਨੂੰ 'ਝੂਠੇ, ਅਪਮਾਨਜਨਕ, ਭੜਕਾਊ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਰਾਚਾਰੀ' ਵਜੋਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਟਰੰਪ ਦੇ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੀਬੀਸੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਖਾਸ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਨੂੰ 2024 ਦੀਆਂ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਖ਼ਲਅੰਦਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁੰਮਰਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਮੁਕੱਦਮੇ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਆਧਾਰ 6 ਜਨਵਰੀ 2021 ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਟਰੰਪ ਦਾ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਹੈ। ਅਪੀਲ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਬੀਬੀਸੀ ਨੇ ਟਰੰਪ ਦੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਹੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਦਲ ਗਿਆ। ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਕਸ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਫਿਲਹਾਲ, ਬੀਬੀਸੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੋਈ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਿਰਿਆ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਈ ਹੈ।

The 33-page appeal filed in court states that the BBC deliberately attempted to portray President Trump as 'false, defamatory, inflammatory, and misconduct-oriented.' Trump's lawyers have described a specific report by the BBC as a blatant attempt to interfere in the 2024 US Presidential elections and mislead voters.
The primary basis of this lawsuit is a speech delivered by Trump on January 6, 2021. According to the appeal, the BBC merged two entirely different segments of Trump’s speech in a way that completely altered the essence and meaning of his words. Trump has alleged that all of this was done to tarnish his image and spread hatred against him worldwide. Currently, there has been no official response from the BBC regarding this matter.
