ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ 4750 ਦਲਿਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਜ਼ੇ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤੇ
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ 4750 ਦਲਿਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ 67 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਕਰਜ਼ੇ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਕਰਜ਼ੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਐੱਸਸੀ ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਵਿੱਤ ਨਿਗਮ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲਏ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿੱਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਹਰਪਾਲ ਚੀਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਵੱਡੀ ਰਾਹਤ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਮੁਆਫ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਫੈਸਲਾ 31 ਮਾਰਚ 2020 ਤੱਕ ਦੇ ਬਕਾਇਆ ਕਰਜ਼ਿਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਲਾਗੂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ 4750 ਦਲਿਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਜ਼ੇ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਉਹ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਐੱਸਸੀ ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਵਿੱਤ ਨਿਗਮ ਤੋਂ ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ। ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਕੁੱਲ 67 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਹੁਣ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਮੁਆਫੀ 31 ਮਾਰਚ 2020 ਤੱਕ ਦੇ ਬਕਾਇਆ ਕਰਜ਼ਿਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਲਾਗੂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਕਈ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਮੁਆਫੀ ਲਈ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਚੱਕਰ ਲਗਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਪਰ ਪਿਛਲੀਆਂ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੀ। ਹੁਣ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਕਦਮ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਵਿੱਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਹਰਪਾਲ ਚੀਮਾ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਐੱਸਸੀ ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਨਿਗਮ ਨੇ 1971 ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ 5.41 ਲੱਖ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਲ ਰਕਮ 847 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਹੈ। 2001 ਤੋਂ 2020 ਤੱਕ 4727 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਾਪਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਹ ਕਰਜ਼ੇ ਹੁਣ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਇਸ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਕਰਜ਼ੇ ਹੇਠ ਦੱਬੇ ਦਲਿਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਹਤ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ, ਸਗੋਂ ਇਹ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਨਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਵਾਧੂ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
The Punjab government has approved a major relief decision by waiving loans worth ₹67 crore for 4,750 Dalit families. These families had borrowed money from the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation (SC Corporation Punjab). After the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced that all outstanding loans till March 31, 2020, have now been forgiven.
He added that these Dalit families had been requesting loan waivers for several years but previous governments failed to act. With this step, the Aam Aadmi Party-led government is delivering long-awaited justice to these economically vulnerable families.
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema further explained that the SC Corporation had disbursed loans worth ₹847 crore to 5.41 lakh beneficiaries since 1971. Out of these, between 2001 and 2020, around 4,727 people were unable to repay their loans. The Punjab cabinet has now waived these pending debts, offering a much-needed lifeline to struggling families.
This decision is expected to bring economic relief, promote social justice, and strengthen trust in government welfare policies.
