ਨੇਪਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਮੀਂਹ ਕਾਰਨ ਢਿੱਗਾਂ ਡਿੱਗਣ ਨਾਲ 18 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ
ਨੇਪਾਲ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਮੀਂਹ ਕਾਰਨ ਢਿੱਗਾਂ ਡਿੱਗਣ ਨਾਲ ਇਲਾਮ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ 18 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਬਚਾਅ ਕਾਰਜ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਨੇਪਾਲ ਆਰਮੀ ਨੇ ਹੈਲੀਕਾਪਟਰ ਨਾਲ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਖਰਾਬ ਮੌਸਮ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਵਧੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਕਾਠਮੰਡੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ ਲਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਾਈ ਉਡਾਣਾਂ ਰੁਕ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਦਕਿ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਨੇਪਾਲ ਦੇ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਪੈ ਰਹੇ ਮੀਂਹ ਕਾਰਨ ਢਿੱਗਾਂ ਡਿੱਗਣ ਨਾਲ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ 18 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਹਾਦਸਾ ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ ਰਾਤ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਏ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕੋਸ਼ੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਲਾਮ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੋਸਾਂਗ ਵਿੱਚ 6 ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਸੇਬੁੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ 5 ਲੋਕ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਜਦਕਿ ਇਲਾਮ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ 7 ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ। ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਲਾਮ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਢਿੱਗਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਨਾਸ਼ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਚਾਅ ਕਾਰਜ ਖਰਾਬ ਮੌਸਮ ਕਾਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਨੇਪਾਲ ਆਰਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਅ ਲਈ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਐਤਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਹੈਲੀਕਾਪਟਰ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਔਰਤ ਸਮੇਤ ਦੋ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਨਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਨਗਰ ਪਾਲਿਕਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਲਾਜ ਮਿਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਨੇਪਾਲ ਦੇ ਸੱਤ ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪੰਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਨਸੂਨ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਸ਼ੀ, ਮਧੇਸ, ਬਾਗਮਤੀ, ਗੰਡਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਲੁੰਬਿਨੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਮੀਂਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਢਿੱਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਾਠਮੰਡੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਖਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਣ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਬਾਗਮਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਰਾਪਤੀ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਲਾਲ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਢਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਭਾਰੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਕਾਰਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਭੂਵਨ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਘਰੇਲੂ ਉਡਾਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਗਲੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਰੋਕ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਗਲੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਲੰਬੇ ਰਸਤਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਾਹਨ ਨਾ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਢਿੱਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਵਧ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਸੁੰਸਰੀ, ਉਦੈਪੁਰ, ਸਪਤਰੀ, ਸਿਰਾਹਾ, ਧਨੂਸ਼ਾ, ਮਹੋਤਰੀ, ਸਰਲਾਹੀ, ਰੌਤਹਟ, ਬਾਰਾ, ਪਾਰਸਾ, ਸਿੰਧੁਲੀ, ਡੋਲਖਾ, ਰਾਮੇਚھਾਪ, ਸਿੰਧੁਪਾਲਚੋਕ, ਕਾਵਰੇਪਾਲੰਚੋਕ, ਕਾਠਮੰਡੂ, ਲਲਿਤਪੁਰ, ਭਕਤਪੁਰ, ਮਕਵਾਨਪੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਚਿਤਵਨ। ਨੇਪਾਲ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਤੇ ਐਰਮਡ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਫੋਰਸ ਨੇ ਬਚਾਅ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਾ ਨਿਕਲਣ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਨੇਪਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੀਂਹ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ ਆਫ਼ਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਨਾਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਵੀ ਮੌਸਮੀ ਤਬਦੀਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
At least 18 people have been killed in landslides triggered by incessant rainfall in different parts of eastern Nepal's Koshi province since Saturday night. In Ilam district, six people died in Ghosang and five in Mansebung, while seven others were killed in other areas of the district. Police said landslides have destroyed several houses in Ilam district and rescue operations are being affected by inclement weather. The Nepal Army has been deployed for rescue, and on Sunday, a helicopter evacuated two injured people, including a pregnant woman, from the incident site and sent them to Dharan Municipality for treatment. Monsoon is active in five of Nepal's seven provinces, including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini. Due to continuous rain and the possibility of landslides for the next three days, entry and exit of vehicles to and from Kathmandu has been restricted. Red alerts have been issued for areas around Bagmati and Eastern Rapti rivers, and people have been advised to stay away from riverbanks. Domestic flights from Tribhuvan International Airport have been suspended until further notice due to heavy rain. Officials have instructed people not to drive on long routes for the next three days, and the risk of floods and landslides has increased in several districts such as Sunsari, Udaypur, Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Sindhuli, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Sindhupalchok, Kavrepalanchok, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Makwanpur, and Chitwan. Nepal Police and Armed Police Force are participating in rescue operations and have advised residents not to venture out unnecessarily. Previously, rain-related disasters in Nepal have claimed many lives, but this time too, weather changes have worsened the situation.
