ਮਣੀਪੁਰ 'ਚ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ: ਵਾਈ ਖੇਮਚੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੁਣੇ ਗਏ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ, ਬਣਨਗੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ
ਮਣੀਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਭਗ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਲਾਗੂ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਹੁਣ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਈ ਇੱਕ ਅਹਿਮ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਆਗੂ ਵਾਈ ਖੇਮਚੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ (Y Khemchand Singh) ਨੂੰ ਸਰਬਸੰਮਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਣੀਪੁਰ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਦਲ ਦਾ ਨੇਤਾ ਚੁਣ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬਣਨ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਸਾਫ਼ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਐਨ ਬੀਰੇਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਖੁਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਤਜਵੀਜ਼ ਰੱਖੀ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਹ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ
ਮਣੀਪੁਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਮੋੜ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ। ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੇ 13 ਫਰਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਜਨਤਾ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੇ ਨਵੀਂ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਗਠਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਸਥਿਤ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਹੈੱਡਕੁਆਰਟਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਈ ਵਿਧਾਇਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੈਠਕ ਵਿੱਚ 62 ਸਾਲਾ ਵਾਈ ਖੇਮਚੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਦਲ ਦਾ ਨੇਤਾ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਵਾਈ ਖੇਮਚੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜੋ ਮਣੀਪੁਰ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਸਪੀਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਬੀਰੇਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਬਨਿਟ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਰਹਿ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ, ਹੁਣ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਨ ਸੰਭਾਲਣਗੇ। ਦਿਲਚਸਪ ਗੱਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਐਨ ਬੀਰੇਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਫਰਵਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਅਸਥਿਰਤਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਸਤੀਫਾ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨ ਤਰੁਣ ਚੁੱਘ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਬਿਤ ਪਾਤਰਾ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
ਸੂਤਰਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਨਵੀਂ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਮਿਲਿਤ ਰੂਪ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਨਿਧਤਾ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਨੇਮਚਾ ਕਿਪਗੇਨ (Nemcha Kipgen), ਜੋ ਕਿ ਕੁਕੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਹਨ, ਨੂੰ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਸੀਐਮ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਮਣੀਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਆਗੂ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਇਸ ਕਦਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਬਹਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਅਹਿਮ ਕਦਮ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
A major political transition is underway in Manipur as the spell of President's Rule is set to conclude. On Tuesday, senior leader Yumnam Khemchand Singh was officially elected as the leader of the Manipur BJP Legislature Party during a crucial meeting held at the party headquarters in New Delhi. This development paves the way for the restoration of a popular government in the ethnic-strife-hit state.
Khemchand Singh, a 62-year-old two-time MLA from Singjamei and former Assembly Speaker, is set to take oath as the next Chief Minister. In a symbolic gesture of unity, his name was propped by former CM N Biren Singh, who had resigned on February 9, 2025, leading to the imposition of President's Rule. The meeting was attended by central observers Tarun Chugh and Sambit Patra, along with Meitei, Kuki, and Naga legislators.

Nemcha Kipgen is likely to be appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister, making her the first woman and first Kuki-Zo individual to hold the post.
