2015 ਫਰੀਦਕੋਟ ਗੋਲੀਕਾਂਡ ਦੇ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਸਾਬਕਾ IPS ਅਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਾਹਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼, ਹਾਲਤ ਨਾਜ਼ੁਕ
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਆਈ.ਪੀ.ਐਸ. (IPS) ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਅਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਾਹਲ ਨੇ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਖੁਦਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਛਾਤੀ 'ਤੇ ਗੋਲੀ ਲੱਗਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਨਾਜ਼ੁਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਰਕ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ੇਰੇ ਇਲਾਜ ਹਨ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਨੋਟ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਧੋਖਾਧੜੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਵੱਡੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੈ। ਚਾਹਲ 2015 ਦੇ ਬਹੁ-ਚਰਚਿਤ ਫਰੀਦਕੋਟ ਗੋਲੀਕਾਂਡ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹਨ
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਉੱਚ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਅਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਾਹਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਖਤਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਬਕਾ IPS ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਗੋਲੀ ਮਾਰ ਲਈ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਪਾਰਕ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਾਹਲ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਫੀ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਦਬਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ। ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ SSP ਵਰੁਣ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਘਟਨਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਹੋਏ ਇੱਕ ਨੋਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਹਲ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਫਰਾਡ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰੀ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹੀ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਕਦਮ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਜ੍ਹਾ ਮੰਨੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਾਹਲ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ 2015 ਦੇ ਬਹਿਬਲ ਕਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਟਕਪੂਰਾ (ਫਰੀਦਕੋਟ) ਗੋਲੀਕਾਂਡ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਘਟਨਾ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਫਰੀਦਕੋਟ ਰੇਂਜ ਦੇ ਡੀ.ਆਈ.ਜੀ. (DIG) ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। SIT ਦੀ ਚਾਰਜਸ਼ੀਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਫਿਲਹਾਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਇਸ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਬਾਰੀਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੇ ਅਸਲ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗ ਸਕੇ।
Former high-ranking Punjab police officer Amar Singh Chahal allegedly attempted to take his own life today, a move that has shocked many. The former IPS officer reportedly shot himself at his residence, following which he was rushed to Park Hospital in Patiala in a critical condition.
Preliminary police investigations revealed that Chahal had been under significant mental pressure recently. According to SSP Patiala Varun Sharma, a note recovered from the scene mentions that Chahal had fallen victim to an online fraud, resulting in massive financial loss. This financial and mental distress is believed to be the primary reason behind his drastic step.
It is worth noting that Amar Singh Chahal is named as an accused in the high-profile 2015 Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura (Faridkot) firing case. At the time of the incident, he was serving as the DIG of the Faridkot Range. His name is included in the SIT chargesheet alongside former CM Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Singh Badal. Currently, the police are conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the incident.
