ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਤੇ 100 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਟੈਰਿਫ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ
ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਡੋਨਲਡ ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਤੇ 100 ਫ਼ੀਸਦੀ ਟੈਰਿਫ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਫਿਲਮ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆ ਸਕਣ, ਜੋ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਟੈਕਸ ਰਿਆਇਤਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਾਹਰ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਫਿਲਮ ਉਦਯੋਗ ਤੇ ਅਸਰ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਲਈ ਵੱਡਾ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਹੈ। ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਟਰੂਥ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਤੇ ਪੋਸਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਲੰਮੀ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਲ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਫਾਇਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

US President Donald Trump has today announced the imposition of a 100% tariff on all films made outside the country. He stated that California, with its weak Governor Gavin Newsom, has been particularly affected. To solve this long-standing, never-ending problem, he will impose a 100% tariff on any and all movies made outside the United States. This decision is to bring back American films, which are being produced abroad due to foreign tax incentives. However, it could jolt Hollywood's global business, as US studios rely on foreign markets. For the Indian film industry, it's a challenge because a large number of Indians live in the US and it is a major market for Indian films. India produces films in various languages, and according to a 2017 Forbes report, Indian language films do significant business in the US and Canada. This tariff will also be the first on a service like films, not just goods. Trump had threatened this in May earlier but is now moving forward with it. This could restrict the import of foreign-produced films and increase challenges for co-productions.
