ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਜ਼ਿਮਨੀ ਚੋਣ: 60.95 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਵੋਟ ਪਈ, 14 ਨੂੰ ਗਿਣਤੀ

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿਮਨੀ ਚੋਣ ਲਈ ਵੋਟਿੰਗ ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਈ। ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਵੋਟਿੰਗ ਸਵੇਰੇ 7 ਵਜੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਾਮ 6 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੀ। ਜ਼ਿਮਨੀ ਚੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ 60.95 ਫੀਸਦ ਵੋਟਿੰਗ ਹੋਈ। ਵੋਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ 14 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

ਦੱਸ ਦਈਏ ਕਿ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਸੀਟ ਜੂਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੋਹਲ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਖਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਜ਼ਿਮਨੀ ਚੋਣ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਬਹੁ-ਕੋਣਾ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਚੋਣ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ 15 ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਹਨ। ਯੋਗ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ 1,92,838 ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ 1,00,933 ਪੁਰਸ਼, 91,897 ਔਰਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਠ ਤੀਜੇ-ਲਿੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਹਨ। ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ 114 ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਕੁੱਲ 222 ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਸਨ।

ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੇ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਾਰ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਰਹੇ ਹਰਮੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਜੁਲਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਤਾਧਾਰੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਜ਼ਿਮਨੀ ਚੋਣ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਅਜ਼ਮਾਇਸ਼ ਵਜੋਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸੀਟ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਕਰਾਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਹਮਲਾਵਰ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਉਧਰ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਸੀਟ ਵਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਹੈ। ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਇਕਾਈ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਕਰਨਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬੁਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਣ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ। ਬੁਰਜ, ਜੋ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਅਤੇ ਰੀਅਲ-ਐਸਟੇਟ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰੀ ਹਨ, ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਚੋਣ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਭਾਰਤੀ ਜਨਤਾ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨੇ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਇਕਾਈ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਹਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਇਹ ਚੋਣ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਓਨੀ ਹੀ ਅਹਿਮ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹਰਸਿਮਰਤ ਕੌਰ ਬਾਦਲ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਸੁਖਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਲਈ ਜ਼ੋਰਦਾਰ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਸੇਵਾਮੁਕਤ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਧਰਮੀ ਫੌਜੀ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੈ। 1984 ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਬਲੂ ਸਟਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਫੌਜ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੈਨਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮੀ ਫੌਜੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਚੋਣ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਸੰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਰਫ਼ ਸੰਨੀ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ 2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਸੈਨਾ (ਟਕਸਾਲੀ) ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਸੁਧੀਰ ਸੂਰੀ ਦੇ ਕਤਲ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ। ਸੰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਫਰਜ਼ੀ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਏ ਗਏ ਦੋ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਹਮਲੇ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ। ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਏ ਗਏ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ, ਸੂਬਾ ਸਿੰਘ 17 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਬ ਨਾ ਝੱਲਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਦਮ ਤੋੜ ਗਿਆ। ਸੰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿਚ ਬੰਦ ਹੈ।

ਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਖਡੂਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ ਐੱਮਪੀ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਅਸਾਮ ਦੀ ਡਿਬਰੂਗੜ੍ਹ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿਚ ਐੱਨਐੱਸਏ ਤਹਿਤ ਬੰਦ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ (ਵਾਰਿਸ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ), ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ (ਪੁਨਰ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ), ਸਿਮਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ (ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ) ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਯੂਥ ਫੈਡਰੇਸ਼ਨ (ਭਿੰਡਰਾਂਵਾਲਾ) ਸਮੇਤ ਕੁਝ ਕੱਟੜਪੰਥੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਠਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੈ। ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਜ਼ਿਮਨੀ ਚੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਅਹਿਮ ਹੋਣਗੇ।

Voting for the by-election to the Tarn Taran Assembly constituency in Punjab started on Tuesday morning amid strict security arrangements. Officials said that voting began at 7 am and continued till 6 pm. A total of 60.95 percent voting took place in the Tarn Taran by-election. The counting of votes will be held on November 14.

It is worth mentioning that the Tarn Taran Assembly seat fell vacant after the death of Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kashmir Singh Sohal in June. A multi-cornered contest is expected in this by-election. There are a total of 15 candidates in the election fray. The number of eligible voters is 1,92,838, which includes 1,00,933 men, 91,897 women, and eight related to the third gender. Officials said that a total of 222 polling stations were set up at 114 locations.

The Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Harmit Singh Sandhu, who has been an MLA from Tarn Taran three times, and joined the ruling party in July this year. This Tarn Taran by-election is being seen as a test for Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Aam Aadmi Party leaders, who campaigned aggressively to retain the seat.

On the other hand, for Congress too, this seat is a matter of prestige. The party has fielded Karnbir Singh Burj, the head of its Tarn Taran district unit. Burj, who is in agriculture and real-estate business, is contesting elections for the first time. The Bharatiya Janata Party has nominated Harjit Singh Sandhu, the president of the party's district unit, as its candidate.

This election is equally important for Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal. He, along with his wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal, campaigned vigorously for the party candidate Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa. Randhawa is a retired government school principal and the wife of a 'Dharmi Fauji'. Many Sikh soldiers who left the army after Operation Blue Star in 1984 are called 'Dharmi Fauji'.

Independent candidate Mandeep Singh is also in the election fray, who is the brother of Sandeep Singh alias Sunny, accused of the murder of Shiv Sena (Taksali) leader Sudhir Suri in 2022. Sandeep Singh is also accused of attacking two former police officers convicted in a fake encounter case in Tarn Taran. One of the convicted former officers, Suba Singh, succumbed to his injuries on September 17. Sandeep Singh is currently lodged in Patiala jail.

Mandeep Singh has the support of some radical Sikh organizations including Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De) led by Amritpal Singh, MP from Khadoor Sahib and currently detained under NSA in Dibrugarh jail in Assam, Shiromani Akali Dal (Punar Surjit) led by Giani Harpreet Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) led by Simranjit Singh Mann, and Sikh Youth Federation (Bhindranwala). All parties have put in full effort in the Tarn Taran by-election and the results will be important for everyone.
