ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ 'ਚ ਨਗਰ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਰੋਕਣ ਦੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ: ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗਰਗੱਜ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ 'ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ
ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਆਕਲੈਂਡ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਗਰ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਜਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰੀ ਰੋਸ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਮਦਮਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਰਗੱਜ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ 'ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸਾਂਝ ਅਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਗਰ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰਨਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਮੰਦਭਾਗਾ ਹੈ
ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਆਕਲੈਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਗਰ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਰੋਕਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਤ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਿੱਖ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰੀ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ਗੀ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੁਖਦਾਈ ਘਟਨਾ 'ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਿਰਿਆ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਮਦਮਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਰਗੱਜ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸਾਂਝ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਦੂਜੇ ਧਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਵਰਗੇ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਘਨ ਪਾਉਣਾ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਹੈ। ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਗਰ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਜਲੂਸ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦੇ ਭਲੇ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਰੀਆ ਹੈ।
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਹਰਕਤ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਸਾਲ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸੱਟ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਭਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕਜੁੱਟ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Following reports of local residents stopping a Nagar Kirtan and protesting against the Sikh congregation in Auckland, New Zealand, there is widespread resentment within Sikh circles. Reacting to this distressing incident, Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Giani Harpreet Singh Gargajj, stated that such incidents challenge the social harmony of the global community.
He emphasized that Sikhs have always respected other religions, and disrupting religious ceremonies in a developed country like New Zealand is a violation of human rights and religious freedom. The Jathedar remarked that Nagar Kirtan is not merely a procession but a medium to spread the message of 'Sarbat da Bhala' (universal well-being) as taught by the Gurus.
Giani Harpreet Singh urged the New Zealand government and local administration to take strict action against those responsible to prevent such occurrences in the future. He noted that while the world cites examples of Sikh service and sacrifice, incidents like these cause deep pain to the Sikh community's heart. He called upon Sikh organizations worldwide to stand united on this issue.
