ਕਿਮ-ਟਰੰਪ ਸਬੰਧ ਠੀਕ ਪਰ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਕੋਰੀਆ ਪਰਮਾਣੂ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡੇਗਾ
ਉੱਤਰੀ ਕੋਰੀਆ ਦੀ ਕਿਮ ਯੋ ਜੋਂਗ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਮ ਜੋਂਗ ਉਨ ਅਤੇ ਡੋਨਲਡ ਟਰੰਪ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਸਬੰਧ “ਮਾੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ” ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਪਰਮਾਣੂ ਨਿਸ਼ਸਤਰੀਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮਜ਼ਾਕ ਹਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਕੋਰੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਣੂ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਮੁਲਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
ਉੱਤਰੀ ਕੋਰੀਆ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਕਿਮ ਜੋਂਗ ਉਨ ਦੀ ਭੈਣ ਕਿਮ ਯੋ ਜੋਂਗ ਨੇ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਮਾਣੂ ਨਿਸ਼ਸਤਰੀਕਰਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੂਟਨੀਤੀ ਮੁੜ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਇਰਾਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਸ਼ਿੰਗਟਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਕੋਰੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਣੂ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਮੁਲਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਡੋਨਲਡ ਟਰੰਪ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਸਬੰਧ “ਮਾੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ” ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਪਰਮਾਣੂ ਨਿਸ਼ਸਤਰੀਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ “ਮਜ਼ਾਕ” ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਅੰਸ਼ਕ ਨਿਸ਼ਸਤਰੀਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਰਾਹਤ ਨਾ ਦੇਵੇ।
ਕਿਮ ਯੋ ਜੋਂਗ ਦੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਕੋਰੀਆ ਦੀ ਪਰਮਾਣੂ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ 2018-19 ਦੀ ਟਰੰਪ-ਕਿਮ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕਾਫੀ ਵਧ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਚਿਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਕੋਰੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਣੂ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਮੁਲਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਅਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਨਵੀਂ ਹਕੀਕਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਅਸਫਲ ਨੀਤੀ ’ਤੇ ਅੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਡੀਪੀਆਰਕੇ-ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਸਿਰਫ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੀ ‘ਉਮੀਦ’ ਹੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ।” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਝਾਅ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਲੱਭਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।

Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, has rejected U.S. intentions to resume diplomacy on denuclearization, urging Washington to recognize North Korea as a nuclear weapons state. Kim Yo Jong, a key official in the Workers’ Party Central Committee, handles North Korea’s relations with South Korea and the United States, and experts consider her the second-most powerful figure after her brother. Her statement was in response to a U.S. official’s claim that Trump is open to talks for complete denuclearization, likely referring to a Yonhap news report citing a White House official.
Experts suggest Trump’s desire to win a Nobel Peace Prize may drive him to pursue diplomacy with Kim Jong Un, offering benefits for phased denuclearization steps. North Korea may demand broad sanctions relief, suspension of U.S.-South Korea military drills, and other economic incentives. However, Trump’s unpredictable approach makes it challenging to predict U.S. concessions.
North Korea’s Ties with Russia and Tensions with South Korea
North Korea has recently strengthened ties with Russia, including military support for the Russia-Ukraine war, reducing its urgency to resume diplomacy with the U.S. and South Korea. On Monday, Kim Yo Jong rejected overtures from South Korea’s new liberal government, criticizing its reliance on the U.S. alliance and hostility toward North Korea.
