ਟਰੰਪ ਦਾ ਦਾਅਵਾ: ਮੇਰੀ ਵਜ੍ਹਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਰਤ-ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਜੰਗ ਰੁਕੀ
ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਡੋਨਲਡ ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚੋਲਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ ਰੋਕਣ ਦੀ ਧਮਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਜੰਗ ਰੁਕ ਗਈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੂ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੰਗ ਦਾ ਅਸਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਵੀ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ ਸੀ। ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਚੋਲਗੀ ਦੇ ਦਾਅਵੇ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਡੋਨਲਡ ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਸਕੌਟਲੈਂਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਫਿਰ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਿਰ ਦਖ਼ਲ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ ਰੋਕਣ ਦੀ ਧਮਕੀ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਜੰਗ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ। ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਸਕੌਟਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਸਾਊਥ ਆਇਰਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਟਰਨਬੈਰੀ ਗੌਲਫ ਰਿਜ਼ੌਰਟ ਤੋਂ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਕਹੀ। ਉਹ ਬਰਤਾਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਕੀਰ ਸਟਾਰਮਰ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੇ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਜੰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਿਆ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਸੰਭਾਵੀ ਜੰਗ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਗਾਜ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਜ਼ਰਾਈਲ ’ਤੇ ਦਬਾਅ ਪਾਉਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਛੇ ਗਏ ਸਵਾਲ ਦਾ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਕਈ ਜੰਗਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ। ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਨਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਜੰਗ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ।”
ਟਰੰਪ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਮੁੱਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੂ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੂ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਵੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਪਾਗਲਪਨ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜੰਗ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਸਮਝੌਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਲੋੜ ਸੀ।”
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜੰਗ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਸਮਝੌਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੂ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੰਗ ਦਾ ਅਸਰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀਮਤ ਰਹੇਗਾ, ਸਗੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਵੀ ਪਵੇਗਾ। ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੂ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਿਸਾਅ ਦੂਰ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਭੈੜੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਾਪਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਅਸੀਂ ਜੰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਹੈ।”
ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਦਾਅਵਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। 22 ਅਪਰੈਲ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ-ਸਮਰਥਿਤ ਅਤਿਵਾਦੀ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ‘ਅਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਧੂਰ’ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਚੋਲਗੀ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
U.S. President Donald Trump, while speaking at his Turnberry Golf Resort in South Ayrshire, Scotland, claimed that his mediation prevented a potential India-Pakistan war. Addressing the media before a meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump stated that if he had not intervened in time and threatened to halt a trade agreement, a war between India and Pakistan, both equipped with nuclear weapons, would have erupted.
Trump emphasized that he stopped six major wars worldwide, including a potential India-Pakistan war. He was responding to a question about pressuring Israel to end the Gaza conflict. He said, “We facilitated several ceasefires. If I hadn’t been there, India and Pakistan would have been at war.”
He further explained, “The issue between India and Pakistan was critical because both are nuclear-armed countries. I know the leaders of India and Pakistan very well. They were discussing a trade agreement but also talking about nuclear weapons, which was madness. I told them that if they talked about war, I would not proceed with the trade agreement. They desperately needed that trade agreement.”
Trump added, “If you go to war, there will be no trade agreement. A war involving nuclear weapons would not only affect these countries but also impact other nations. The fallout from nuclear weapons spreads far and causes terrible consequences. We worked to prevent wars, including the India-Pakistan war, and it’s a great honor.”
India has consistently rejected such claims of mediation. On April 22, in response to a Pakistan-supported terrorist attack, India conducted a military operation named ‘Operation Sindhur.’ India stated that no mediation was required during this operation.
