ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਦੀ ਦਸਤਾਰਬੰਦੀ: ਨਿਹੰਗਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ, ਟਕਸਾਲ ਮੁਖੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਏ

ਤਖ਼ਤ ਕੇਸਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਜ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜਕਾਰੀ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਕੇਸਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਦੀ ਦਸਤਾਰਬੰਦੀ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਮਰਿਆਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਹੰਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ, ਸੰਪਰਦਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ, ਸੰਤ-ਮਹਾਂਪੁਰਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਭਾ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸਮੂਹ ਪੰਥਕ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਨੂੰ ਦਸਤਾਰ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਪਰ ਦਮਦਮੀ ਟਕਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਬਾਬਾ ਹਰਨਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਇਸ ਦਸਤਾਰਬੰਦੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਏ।

ਇਹ ਦਸਤਾਰਬੰਦੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਾਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਦਲ ਮੁਖੀ ਬਾਬਾ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ 96ਵੇਂ ਕਰੋੜੀ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੋਇਆ। ਬਾਬਾ ਬਲਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੂਰੀ ਮਰਿਆਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਦੀ ਦਸਤਾਰਬੰਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ ਦੇ 350 ਸਾਲਾ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦਿਵਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪੰਥਕ ਏਕਤਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਦਸਤਾਰਬੰਦੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੱਕੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਸ਼ਤਾਬਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ।

ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਨੇ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਰੋਮ-ਰੋਮ ਪੰਥ ਦਾ ਰਿਣੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਲਈ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਸਿੱਖ ਪੰਥ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਈ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਡਟਵੀਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਸਤਾਰਬੰਦੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਰਘਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਬਾਬਾ ਮੇਜਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੋਢੀ, ਬਾਬਾ ਜੋਗਾ ਸਿੰਘ, ਬਾਬਾ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਇੰਦਰਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਿੱਝਰ, ਡਾ. ਦਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੀਮਾ, ਸੁੱਚਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਲੰਗਾਹ, ਗੁਰਚਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਰੇਵਾਲ, ਗੁਰਬਖਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਾਲਸਾ, ਭਾਈ ਅਮਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਾਵਲਾ, ਦਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਭਿੰਡਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਕਈ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤ-ਮਹਾਂਪੁਰਸ਼ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹੇ।

ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਇਹ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਦੀ ਦਸਤਾਰਬੰਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਪਹਿਲਾਂ 10 ਮਾਰਚ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਕੇਸਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਸਤਾਰਬੰਦੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਿਹੰਗ ਸਿੰਘ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਸਮਾਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜ਼ੋਰਦਾਰ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਕਈ ਸਵਾਲ ਉੱਠੇ ਹਨ। ਭਾਜਪਾ ਆਗੂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਚਿੰਤਕ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸਰਚਾਂਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਦੂਜੀ ਦਸਤਾਰਬੰਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਥਕ ਰਵਾਇਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਦਸਤਾਰਬੰਦੀ ਮਰਿਆਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸੱਤ ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲਏ ਗਏ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਹੋਣਗੇ? ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਥਕ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਬੈਠਣ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਕੌਣ ਲਵੇਗਾ? ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਛਲੀਆਂ ਭੁੱਲਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੁਆਫੀ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੰਗੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗੜਗੱਜ ਦੀ ਦਸਤਾਰਬੰਦੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਨੇ ਪੰਥਕ ਏਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪੰਥਕ ਰਵਾਇਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਵੀ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।

At Takht Kesgarh Sahib today, the turban-tying ceremony (dastarbandi) of Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj, appointed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) as the acting Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedar of Takht Kesgarh Sahib, was conducted in accordance with religious traditions. The event saw participation from heads of Nihang Singh organizations, leaders of sampardas, saints, and representatives of Sikh societies. All panthic organizations honored Jathedar Gargajj with a turban, accepting him as Jathedar. However, Damdami Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa did not attend the dastarbandi ceremony.

This dastarbandi event was made possible through the efforts of SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami and Budha Dal chief Baba Balbir Singh 96th Karori. Baba Balbir Singh stated that the dastarbandi of Jathedar Gargajj was done with full respect to tradition. He emphasized that panthic unity is essential before the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, and this dastarbandi ceremony will carry a significant message to the people. He appealed to the SGPC to appoint a permanent Jathedar at Akal Takht Sahib before the martyrdom centenary.

Addressing the congregation, Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Gargajj said that every fiber of his being is indebted to the Panth and he will always remain dedicated to its rising glory. He noted that the Sikh Panth and Punjab are facing many challenges today, which need to be confronted unitedly and firmly. Present at the dastarbandi ceremony were former Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh, Baba Major Singh Sodhi, Baba Joga Singh, Baba Avtar Singh, MLA Inderbir Singh Nijjar, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Sucha Singh Langah, Gurcharan Singh Grewal, Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, Bhai Amarjit Singh Chawla, Daljit Singh Bhinder, along with several SGPC members and saints.

However, this is the second time Jathedar Gargajj's dastarbandi has been performed. Previously, on March 10, a dastarbandi ceremony was held at Takht Kesgarh Sahib, which faced strong opposition from Nihang Singh organizations and the saint community. Questions have also been raised about today's event. BJP leader and Sikh thinker Prof. Sarchand Singh Khiala has called this second dastarbandi a violation of panthic traditions. He questioned that if the first dastarbandi was not in line with tradition, how will the decisions made by Jathedar Gargajj in the past seven months be considered valid? He asked who will be responsible for sitting as Jathedar at Akal Takht Sahib without panthic approval. He also pointed out that no apology was sought for past mistakes during the event. Thus, Jathedar Gargajj's dastarbandi ceremony has conveyed a message of panthic unity but has also raised questions about panthic traditions and approval.
