ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਟਰੱਕ ਹਾਦਸਾ: ਜਸ਼ਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕੀਤਾ, SGPC ਨੂੰ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ

ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਸੜਕ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਟਰੱਕ ਡਰਾਈਵਰ ਜਸ਼ਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ (21) ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੇਵਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਸੰਕਟ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢਣ ਲਈ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਕਮੇਟੀ (SGPC) ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਦਖ਼ਲ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਅਪੀਲ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਟਰੱਕ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਨਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਕਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦਰਦਨਾਕ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਟਰੱਕ ਹਾਦਸਾ ਓਂਟਾਰੀਓ, ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਟਰੱਕ ਨੇ ਅੱਠ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਟੱਕਰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਇਸ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਸ਼ਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ 'ਤੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਟਰੱਕ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਨਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਰੱਦ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਮੂਲ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ ਨੇੜੇ ਪੁਰਾਣਾਸ਼ਾਲਾ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਸ਼ਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ "ਗ੍ਰਾਸ ਵਹੀਕੂਲਰ ਮੈਨਸਲਾਟਰ, ਡਰਾਈਵਿੰਗ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਡਰੱਗਜ਼ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਸੱਟ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣ" ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਤਹਿਤ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜਸ਼ਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਸਕੂਲ ਬੱਸ ਚਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਜਸਵੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇੱਕ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਧਾਰੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਯਮਿਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਨਗਰ ਕੀਰਤਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਟਰੱਕ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹੋਣ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਰੱਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੂਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਟੌਕਸੀਕੋਲੋਜੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਦਾਅਵਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਰੱਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘‘ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਇਹ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਲਈ ਹੱਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁਖੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ, ਅਸੀਂ ਪੀੜਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।’’ ਇਸ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਟਰੱਕ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੀੜਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਵੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਨਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਕਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਸ਼ਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਭੇਜਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਟਰੈਵਲ ਏਜੰਟ ਨੂੰ 40 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਰਵੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਸੀ। ਮਾਤਾ ਜਸਵੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਭਾਵੁਕ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ: ‘‘ਮੈਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਐੱਸ.ਜੀ.ਪੀ.ਸੀ. ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕੌਂਸਲੇਟ ਜਨਰਲ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ। ਜਸ਼ਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਇੱਕ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਧਾਰੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੰਕਟ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਘੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਐੱਸ.ਜੀ.ਪੀ.ਸੀ. ਸਾਡੀ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਵੇਗੀ।’’ ਇਸ ਅਪੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ SGPC ਨੂੰ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਟਰੱਕ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਖ਼ਲ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਨਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।

ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਸ਼ਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨਵੰਬਰ 2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੀ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਪੋਰਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਲੰਬਿਤ ਹੋਣ ਤੱਕ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਟਰੱਕ ਡਰਾਈਵਿੰਗ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਟਰੱਕ ਹਾਦਸੇ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ SGPC ਤੋਂ ਮਦਦ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਚਰਚਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

In a horrific road accident in California's Ontario, the family of Punjabi truck driver Jashanpreet Singh (21), involved in a US truck accident, has claimed that their son does not consume any kind of intoxicating substances. Along with this, the family has appealed to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Sri Akal Takht Sahib to intervene to get their son out of this legal crisis. This appeal comes amid the US truck accident where drug allegations have been leveled, but the family is completely denying them.

It is noteworthy that this painful US truck accident occurred in Ontario, California, where a truck collided with eight vehicles, resulting in the death of three people and injuries to four others. In this accident, Jashanpreet Singh has been arrested by the police and serious charges have been filed against him. The family has demanded an immediate dismissal of the drug allegations related to the US truck accident.

Originally from Puranashala town near Gurdaspur, Jashanpreet has been arrested by the police on charges of "gross vehicular manslaughter, using drugs while driving, and causing bodily injury." However, his father Ravinder Singh, who drives a school bus, and mother Jasveer Kaur have claimed that their son is an Amritdhari Sikh and regularly participated in nagar kirtans. They completely deny being linked to intoxicating substances in the US truck accident and say that he stays away from intoxicants.

Ravinder Singh, refuting the claims of the toxicology report, said, "First of all, this drug issue should be settled once and for all. This is really hurting us. At the same time, we express our condolences to the bereaved families." In this US truck accident, the family has also offered condolences to the victims but they completely deny the drug allegations.

The family revealed that they had paid 40 lakh rupees to a travel agent to send Jashanpreet abroad and had mortgaged their home to secure their son's future. Mother Jasveer Kaur, becoming emotional, said: "I appeal to Sri Akal Takht Sahib and SGPC to talk to the Indian Consulate General in California. Jashanpreet was an Amritdhari Sikh and we hope that in this hour of crisis, SGPC will come forward to help us." In this appeal, SGPC has been urged to intervene in the US truck accident so that the drug allegations can be quashed.

It is noteworthy that Jashanpreet arrived in America by crossing the southern border in November 2022 and was released pending a deportation hearing. After that, he was working as a truck driver, but the US truck accident has shaken the entire family. The family's denial of the drug allegations and appeal for help from SGPC has brought this case into further discussion.
