ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਵਾ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ; ਧੂੰਏਂ ਦੀ ਚਾਦਰ ਛਾਈ
ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਵਾ ਦੀ ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾੜੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ AQI 347 ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਧੂੰਏਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਘਣੀ ਚਾਦਰ ਛਾ ਗਈ। ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਾਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗ੍ਰੀਨ ਪਟਾਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਦਾ ਪੱਧਰ ਘਟਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ। ਵਜ਼ੀਰਪੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ AQI ‘ਗੰਭੀਰ’ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ।
ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਵਾ ਦੀ ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾੜੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਧੂੰਏਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਘਣੀ ਚਾਦਰ ਛਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਸਿਸਟਮ ਆਫ਼ ਏਅਰ ਕੁਆਲਿਟੀ ਐਂਡ ਵੈਦਰ ਫੋਰਕਾਸਟਿੰਗ ਐਂਡ ਰਿਸਰਚ (SAFAR) ਦੇ ਅੰਕੜਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਸਵੇਰੇ 7 ਵਜੇ ਹਵਾ ਦੀ ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਸੂਚਕ ਅੰਕ (AQI) 347 ’ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ, ਜੋ ‘ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾੜੀ’ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੀਵਾਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ AQI 359 ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਮਾਮੂਲੀ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ-ਐੱਨਸੀਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗ੍ਰੀਨ ਪਟਾਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਕਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਜਨਤਕ ਸਿਹਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਟਾਕਾ ਸਨਅਤ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਤੁਲਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ 20 ਅਤੇ 21 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੇਰੇ 6:00 ਤੋਂ 7:00 ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਮ 8:00 ਤੋਂ 10:00 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਗ੍ਰੀਨ ਪਟਾਕੇ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਪਰ, ਇਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਦਾ ਪੱਧਰ ਚਿੰਤਾਜਨਕ ਰਿਹਾ।
ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੀਐਮ 2.5 ਦਾ ਪੱਧਰ 358 ਅਤੇ ਪੀਐਮ 10 ਦਾ ਪੱਧਰ 340 ਮਾਪਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਵਜ਼ੀਰਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ AQI 408 ’ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ, ਜੋ ‘ਗੰਭੀਰ’ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪੀਐਮ 2.5 ਮੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਕ ਸੀ। ਆਰਕੇ ਪੁਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ AQI 368 ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ INA ਇਲਾਕੇ ’ਚ ਸੰਘਣੀ ਧੁੰਦ ਕਾਰਨ ਵਾਹਨ ਚਾਲਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਵੀ ਹੈੱਡਲਾਈਟਾਂ ਚਾਲੂ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਪਈਆਂ।
ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਬੋਰਡ (CPCB) ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਅਧੀਨ 39 ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 38 ਦੇ ਅੰਕੜਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ 4:00 ਵਜੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦਾ 24-ਘੰਟੇ ਦਾ ਔਸਤ AQI 345 ਸੀ, ਜੋ ‘ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾੜੀ’ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਪਾਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਪ੍ਰਦੂਸ਼ਣ ਦੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਵੱਡਾ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੀ ਹਵਾ ਨੂੰ ‘ਗੈਸ ਚੈਂਬਰ’ ਵਜੋਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
After Diwali, the air quality in Delhi has deteriorated significantly. On Tuesday morning, a thick layer of smog blanketed the national capital. According to data from the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 347 at 7 AM, falling into the ‘very poor’ category. Compared to last year’s Diwali, when the AQI was 359, there has been only a slight improvement this year.
The Supreme Court had permitted the sale and use of green crackers in Delhi-NCR to balance public health concerns with the interests of the firecracker industry. The court allowed green crackers to be used on October 20 and 21 from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. However, air pollution levels remained alarmingly high in most areas of Delhi.
In Anand Vihar, PM 2.5 levels were recorded at 358, and PM 10 levels at 340. In Wazirpur, the AQI reached 408, falling into the ‘severe’ category, with PM 2.5 being the primary pollutant. RK Puram recorded an AQI of 368. In Delhi’s INA area, dense smog forced vehicle drivers to use headlights even during the daytime.
According to data from 38 out of 39 monitoring stations overseen by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s 24-hour average AQI was 345 on Monday at 4:00 PM, still in the ‘very poor’ category. Despite restrictions, there has been no significant reduction in air pollution levels, leading to Delhi’s air being likened to a ‘gas chamber.’
