ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲੀਆਂ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ: SOPU ਆਗੂ ਨੂੰ ਡਰਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਹਵਾਈ ਫਾਇਰਿੰਗ
ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਥਿਤ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈ ਹੈ। ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀ ਸੋਪੂ (SOPU) ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਆਗੂ ਨੂੰ ਡਰਾਉਣ-ਧਮਕਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਮਕਸਦ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਝ ਅਣਪਛਾਤੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹਵਾਈ ਫਾਇਰਿੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਦਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਹੈ।
ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਦਾ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਮੰਨੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ (PU) ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਫਿਰ ਹਿੰਸਕ ਘਟਨਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਸੁਰਖੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਕੈਂਪਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਰੇਆਮ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਚੱਲਣ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੜਕੰਪ ਮਚ ਗਿਆ। ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਇਹ ਹਮਲਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀ 'ਸਟੂਡੈਂਟ ਔਰਗੇਨਾਈਜ਼ੇਸ਼ਨ ਆਫ਼ ਪੈਨਜੈਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ' (SOPU) ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਆਗੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਚਸ਼ਮਦੀਦਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਕੁਝ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੋਪੂ ਆਗੂ ਨੂੰ ਡਰਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਹਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਚਲਾਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਫ਼ਰਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਕਿਸਮਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ 'ਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹੀ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਚ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਮੌਕੇ 'ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੀਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਸੀਸੀਟੀਵੀ (CCTV) ਕੈਮਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਫੁਟੇਜ ਖੰਗਾਲੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਹਮਲਾਵਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਰੰਜਿਸ਼ ਜਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀ ਆਪਸੀ ਖਹਿਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ। ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੇ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Panjab University (PU) in Chandigarh, considered a hub of student politics, is once again in the news due to a violent incident. The open firing inside the campus caused panic among students and staff. According to reports, the attack targeted a prominent leader of the student organization 'Student Organisation of Panjab University' (SOPU).
According to eyewitnesses, some youths fired shots into the air to intimidate the SOPU leader and fled the scene. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in this incident, but it has raised serious questions regarding the university's security. Upon receiving information about the event, senior officials of the Chandigarh Police reached the spot and cordoned off the area.
The police are currently scrutinizing CCTV footage from the campus to identify the attackers. Preliminary investigations suggest the incident may be linked to an old rivalry or student election-related animosity. The university administration has condemned the incident and assured that security measures on campus will be strengthened.
