ਬੀਸੀਸੀਆਈ ਨੇ ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਕੱਪ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਨਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਏਸੀਸੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਖਤ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕੀਤਾ

ਬੀਸੀਸੀਆਈ ਨੇ ਏਸ਼ੀਆਈ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਕਾਊਂਸਲ (ਏਸੀਸੀ) ਦੀ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਬਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਏ ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਕੱਪ ਦੇ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਜੇਤੂ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਨਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਖਤ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੁਬਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀਸੀਸੀਆਈ ਨੇ ਏਸੀਸੀ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ ਮੋਹਸਿਨ ਨਕਵੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਡਰਾਮੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਮੋਹਸਿਨ ਨਕਵੀ, ਜੋ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਬੋਰਡ ਦੇ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ ਵੀ ਹਨ, ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਸਹਿਮਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਕੱਪ 2025 ਦੇ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾ ਕੇ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਈ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਵੰਡ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਮੋਹਸਿਨ ਨਕਵੀ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਲੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਗਤ ਮੈਡਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਨਕਵੀ ਖੁਦ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ਗੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।

ਬੀਸੀਸੀਆਈ ਦੇ ਉਪ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ੁਕਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਖਜ਼ਾਨਚੀ ਆਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਸ਼ੇਲਾਰ ਏਸੀਸੀ ਦੀ ਆਨਰਲ ਜਨਰਲ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ (ਏਜੀਐੱਮ) ਵਿੱਚ ਬੋਰਡ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਨਿਧੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਨਾ ਸੌਂਪਣ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਨਕਵੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਏਸੀਸੀ ਦੇ ਸੂਤਰਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਖਤ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਫਸੋਸਨਾਕ ਅਤੇ ਅਣਸਪੋਰਟਸਮੈਨਲਾਈਕ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਹੈ। ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ੁਕਲਾ ਨੇ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੇਤੂ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਸੌਂਪੀ ਜਾਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਏਸੀਸੀ ਦੀ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਜੇਤੂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਲਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਜਲਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ।

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has raised a strong objection in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) annual meeting held in Dubai regarding the failure to hand over the winners' trophy to the Indian team that clinched the Asia Cup. The meeting addressed the drama created by ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi during the post-match ceremony, with BCCI condemning the Asia Cup trophy fiasco. On the other hand, Mohsin Naqvi, who also chairs the Pakistan Cricket Board, remains unwilling to hand over the trophy to India. It may be recalled that in the Asia Cup 2025 final, India defeated Pakistan by five wickets to win the title, but during the awards ceremony, the Indian team refused to accept the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi. As a result, the trophy and individual medals were not presented, and Naqvi himself walked away with the silverware. This incident has sparked widespread outrage among cricket fans.

BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla and former Treasurer Ashish Shelar attended the ACC Annual General Meeting (AGM) as board representatives. They sharply criticized the withholding of the trophy and Naqvi's conduct during the awards event. According to ACC sources, India expressed severe objection to this matter, terming it highly unfortunate and unsportsmanlike. Rajiv Shukla clearly stated that the winning team should be handed the trophy. This is an ACC trophy and does not belong to any individual. He emphasized that the trophy must be delivered to the winning Indian team at the earliest.

In the thrilling Sunday final, India beat Pakistan by five wickets, where Tilak Varma played an unbeaten knock of 69 runs and was named Player of the Match. However, the post-match awards ceremony was delayed significantly and dragged on until nearly midnight. During this time, the Indian players decided not to accept the trophy from Naqvi, as he also serves as Pakistan's Interior Minister amid strained India-Pakistan relations. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia has also called this behavior childish and unsportsmanlike, demanding the prompt return of the trophy and medals. He added that a strong protest will be lodged against this at the next ICC meeting.

Currently, the Asia Cup trophy remains at the ACC office, and it is still unclear when it will reach the winning team members. The BCCI has also awarded a bonus of Rs 21 crore to the players for this victory. In multi-nation tournaments like the Asia Cup, India continues to play Pakistan, but avoids bilateral series as per the Indian government's policy. This episode has further heightened tensions in cricket relations between India and Pakistan. The ACC must now resolve this matter swiftly to ensure the winning team receives its due.
