ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਦੇ ਕਤਲ ਦੀ ਗੁੱਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਲਝਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਖੁਲਾਸਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਵਾਰਦਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਜਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁੰਮਰਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ, ਪਰ ਸਖ਼ਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ ਪੁੱਛਗਿੱਛ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਗਲੇਰੀ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ

ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਮਿਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਜਦੋਂ ਜਾਂਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਬਿਆਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਫੀ ਫਰਕ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਪਤੀ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਸ ਕਤਲ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਅਣਪਛਾਤੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਵਾਰਦਾਤ ਦੱਸ ਕੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁੰਮਰਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਸਾਈਬਰ ਸੈੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਸੀਟੀਵੀ ਫੁਟੇਜ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਅਹਿਮ ਸੁਰਾਗ ਮਿਲੇ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਸਖ਼ਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪੁੱਛਗਿੱਛ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਟੁੱਟ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੁਰਮ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਤਲ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਘਰੇਲੂ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਸੀ ਅਣਬਣ ਵੱਡੀ ਵਜ੍ਹਾ ਮੰਨੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਬੜੀ ਬੇਰਹਿਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਵਾਰਦਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਜਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਤਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਵੀ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਐਸ.ਐਸ.ਪੀ. ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕਤਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਧਾਰਾਵਾਂ ਤਹਿਤ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਦਰਜ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਕੇ ਰਿਮਾਂਡ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਵਾਰਦਾਤ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆ ਸਕੇ।
