‘ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਅਰੈਸਟ’ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਰ: ਜਸਟਿਸ ਚੰਦਰਚੂੜ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਨਾਲ 3.71 ਕਰੋੜ ਦੀ ਠੱਗੀ, ਇੱਕ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ
ਸਾਈਬਰ ਠੱਗਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਸਟਿਸ ਡੀ.ਵਾਈ. ਚੰਦਰਚੂੜ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਨੂੰ ‘ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਅਰੈਸਟ’ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਦਿਖਾ ਕੇ 3.71 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਠੱਗੀ ਮਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇੱਕ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਠੱਗਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਦਿਖਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੈਂਕ ਖਾਤੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪੈਸੇ ਟ੍ਰਾਂਸਫਰ ਕਰਵਾ ਲਏ ਸਨ।
ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਅਰੈਸਟ (Digital Arrest) ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਵਧ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਠੱਗਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਸਟਿਸ ਡੀ.ਵਾਈ. ਚੰਦਰਚੂੜ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਚੂਨਾ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਸਾਈਬਰ ਅਪਰਾਧੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਕਾਲ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਇਹ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਡਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਾਤੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 3.71 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਠੱਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਖਾਤਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਟ੍ਰਾਂਸਫਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
ਜਾਂਚ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਠੱਗਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਤਿਰ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਸਟਿਸ ਚੰਦਰਚੂੜ ਦੀ ਫੋਟੋ ਅਤੇ ਫਰਜ਼ੀ ਅਦਾਲਤੀ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਪੀੜਤ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ੱਕ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇੱਕ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਧੋਖਾਧੜੀ ਦੇ ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਸੀ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਹੁਣ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵੱਡੀ ਰਕਮ ਨੂੰ ਕਿੱਥੇ-ਕਿੱਥੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਗਿਰੋਹ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਲੁਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
ਸਾਈਬਰ ਮਾਹਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ‘ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਅਰੈਸਟ’ ਵਰਗਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਕਾਲ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ। ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਸਾਂਝ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਠੇਸ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਫਰਜ਼ੀ ਕਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿਣ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਦੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਸਾਈਬਰ ਸੈੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ।
Cases of ‘Digital Arrest’ are continuously rising across the country, and now fraudsters have used the name of former Supreme Court Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud to swindle a woman of crores of rupees. Cyber criminals convinced the woman through a video call that she was involved in a serious crime and had been ‘digitally arrested.’ In a state of panic, the woman transferred Rs 3.71 crore from her account to the bank accounts provided by the scammers.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the scammers had cleverly used Justice Chandrachud’s photograph and created a fake court environment to ensure the victim had no doubts. The police acted swiftly and arrested one suspect who was part of this fraudulent network. Authorities are now tracing where the vast sum of money has been distributed and where other members of this gang are hiding.
Cyber experts maintain that there is no legal term such as ‘Digital Arrest’ and no government agency arrests individuals via video calls. Such incidents harm the mental well-being and security of the public. The police have urged citizens to remain vigilant against such fake calls and report any suspicious activity immediately to the cyber cell.
