ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਮੰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਟਕਰਾਅ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਜਬਰੀ ਥੋਪੇ ਗਏ TET ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਵੱਲ ਮਾਰਚ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਤਾਂ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੌਛਾਰਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਇਸ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਈ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ
ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੜਕਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਅੱਜ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੰਗਾਮਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਜਬਰੀ ਥੋਪੇ ਗਏ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆ (TET) ਦੇ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਵਜ੍ਹਾ ਨਵੇਂ ਨਿਯਮ ਮੜ੍ਹ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਲਈ ਖ਼ਤਰਾ ਹਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਰੋਸ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਵੱਲ ਮਾਰਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਾਂ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਦਮ ਚੁੱਕੇ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਣ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਬੈਰੀਕੇਡ ਲਗਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੌਛਾਰਾਂ (water cannons) ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਈ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਭਿੱਜ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਮੂਲੀ ਸੱਟਾਂ ਵੀ ਲੱਗੀਆਂ। ਮਾਹੌਲ ਤਣਾਅਪੂਰਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਦੇਖ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ। ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਦਾ ਘਾਣ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਤਰਕ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਨਿਭਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ 'ਤੇ TET ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਤ ਲਗਾਉਣਾ ਨਾਇਨਸਾਫ਼ੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਰ ਲੰਬਿਤ ਮੰਗਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ। ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ, ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕਦਮ ਚੁੱਕਣਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਸੀ।
Chaos erupted on the streets of Chandigarh today as a large number of teachers launched a protest against the government's policies. These teachers were protesting against the decision to forcibly impose the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). The protesting teachers argue that the government is unnecessarily imposing new rules upon them, which pose a threat to their employment and future. When these teachers began their march toward the Punjab Vidhan Sabha to express their resentment, the Chandigarh Police took strict measures to stop them.
The police had set up barricades to prevent the protesters from advancing, but when the teachers attempted to cross them, the police used water cannons. Due to this police action, many teachers were drenched, and some sustained minor injuries. Observing the atmosphere turn tense, the police took several teacher union leaders into custody. Teacher organizations have strongly condemned this police action, describing it as a suppression of democratic rights.
The teachers argue that they have already been serving for a long time and imposing the TET condition on them now is unfair. They demanded an immediate withdrawal of this decision and called for attention to be paid to their other pending demands. On the other hand, the administration stated that these steps were necessary to maintain security and law and order.
