ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਜਾਂਚ ਲਈ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਦੀ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਰਨ
ਸਾਬਕਾ ਉਪ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਦਾ ਰੁਖ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਜਾਂਚ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਖਪਾਤੀ ਦੱਸਦਿਆਂ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨ ਵਿਚ ਪੁਲਿਸ 'ਤੇ ਤੱਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜ-ਮਰੋੜ ਕੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਰਨਲ ਬਾਠ ਹਮਲਾ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਵੀ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
ਸਾਬਕਾ ਉਪ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਮਲੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ 'ਤੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਸਵਾਲ ਚੁੱਕਦਿਆਂ ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਤੇ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨ ਦਾਇਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਤੇ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਹਕੀਕਤ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆ ਸਕੇ।
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ 4 ਦਸੰਬਰ 2024 ਨੂੰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੇ ਹਰਿਮੰਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਦੇ ਘੰਟਾਘਰ ਪਾਸੇ ਡਿਓਢੀ 'ਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਭਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਫੁਰਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਰੋਸ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਕਾਮ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਾਂਚ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਨੇ ਨਾਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਏਫ਼ਆਈਆਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ, ਬਲਕਿ ਜੋ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, ਉਸਦੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ 'ਤੇ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨਰ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਜ਼ਰਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਆਰੋਪ ਲਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ, ਜੋ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਅਤਿਵਾਦੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ਮਿਲ ਗਈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਮੀਦ ਜਤਾਈ ਕਿ ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਵੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਾਂਚ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਦਖ਼ਲ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਖਪਾਤ ਸਾਫ਼ ਦਿਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਇੱਕ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਤੇ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪਿਆ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਤੋਂ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਦਖਲ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ। ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਤੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਢਾਂਚੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਵਾਦਿਤ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਯਾਦ ਰਹੇ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਰਨਲ ਪੁਸ਼ਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਠ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਹਮਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਜਾਂਚ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਾਅਰਾਜ਼ਗੀ ਜਤਾਈ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨ ਦਾਇਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ।
Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has raised serious concerns over the investigation conducted by Punjab Police into the attack on him. In a petition filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Badal has demanded that an impartial and independent agency investigate the incident to ensure justice.
The attack occurred on December 4, 2024, near the Ghanta Ghar entrance of the Harmandir Sahib complex in Amritsar while Badal was present for religious duties. Though his security team managed to thwart the attack, he claims the subsequent investigation was politically influenced and biased.
According to the petition filed by his lawyers Arshdeep Singh and Arshdeep Singh Kaler, the FIR was delayed and based on the statements of a person who wasn’t even present at the crime scene. Worse, Badal’s own statement wasn’t recorded.
He further alleged that the accused, who has a prior criminal record and alleged links to extremist activity, was granted bail due to gaps in the investigation. CCTV footage and witness statements indicate a larger conspiracy, yet no efforts have been made to probe the involvement of other possible suspects.
Badal emphasized that political interference in the investigation was clearly visible, and only an independent agency could uncover the full truth. He urged the High Court to intervene promptly to ensure justice.
Earlier, a similar incident involving Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath and his son in Patiala had led to questions on the integrity of Punjab Police. The High Court had transferred that case to the Chandigarh Police for a more neutral investigation.
This case once again brings focus to the need for fair and transparent handling of high-profile attacks and highlights concerns about political bias in state investigations.
