ਪੰਜਾਬ ’ਚ ਅੱਜ ਤੋਂ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀ ਸੁਧਾਈ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ, ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਦਿਨ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਛੁੱਟੀ
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੁਧਾਈ (ਐੱਸ ਆਈ ਆਰ) ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਅੱਜ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਲਈ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ 16 ਅਤੇ 17 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਭਾਗੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। 2003 ਦੀਆਂ ਸੂਚੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਸੂਚੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਤੁਲਨਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਸੁਧਾਈ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ 2026 ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਰੀ ਹੋਈ, ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਤਿਆਰੀਆਂ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਹਨ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸੁਧਾਈ (ਐੱਸ ਆਈ ਆਰ) ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਅੱਜ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਚੋਣ ਰਜਿਸਟਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਫਸਰ ਦਫਤਰ ਨੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਭਾਗੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ 16 ਅਤੇ 17 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਭਾਗੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ, ਜੋ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਹਨ, ਨੂੰ ਬਲਾਕ ਪੱਧਰ ’ਤੇ ਐੱਸ ਆਈ ਆਰ 1-1-2026 ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਲਈ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸੁਪਰਵਾਈਜ਼ਰੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੂਥ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ (ਬੀ ਐੱਲ ਓ) ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਧਾਈ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਸੌਂਪਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਇੱਕ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਪੀ ਸੀ ਐੱਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ 2003 ਦੀ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਸੂਚੀ ਦੀ ਤੁਲਨਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਸੁਧਾਈ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਚਾਰੂ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸੂਚੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਡੇਟ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਚੋਣ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਦਫਤਰ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ’ਤੇ ਤਿਆਰ ਰਹਿਣ। ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ 2026 ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ।

ਇਹ ਵੀ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਦੇਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰੀਆਂ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਸੰਗਰੂਰ ਦੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਚਾਬਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਐੱਸ ਆਈ ਆਰ 2026 ਦਾ ਮਕਸਦ ਵੋਟਰ ਸੂਚੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਪਡੇਟ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੋਗ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
Preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in Punjab begin today. The Election Registration Officer’s office has directed departmental officers in several parts of the state to be relieved from their regular duties on September 16 and 17 to focus on SIR preparations. Officers responsible for voter lists at the constituency level, including supervisory officers and Booth Level Officers (BLOs), will be deployed at the block level for the SIR 1-1-2026 process.
A senior PCS officer stated that preparations are being made to compare the current voter lists with those from 2003 to ensure a smooth revision process. District election officers have been instructed to update the lists and be ready to submit them when requested by the Punjab Chief Electoral Officer’s office. The process is expected to be completed by 2026.
Although the Punjab Chief Electoral Officer’s office labeled reports about SIR as “speculative” on Sunday, a letter issued on September 15 clarified that officers must prepare for the process. Voters will be categorized into seven groups based on their presence or absence in the lists, with reasons such as death, migration, or new voters documented. Officers are directed to compare the 2003 lists with current ones and update them with necessary reasons.
It has also been clarified that floods in Punjab caused some delays in the process, but officers have now been instructed to expedite preparations. Sangrur Deputy Commissioner Rahul Chaba stated that the goal of SIR 2026 is to fully update voter lists, ensuring all eligible voters are included.
