ਆਪਣੀ ਇਥੋਪੀਆ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸਰਵਉੱਚ ਸਨਮਾਨ — 'ਦਿ ਗ੍ਰੇਟ ਆਨਰ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਆਫ ਇਥੋਪੀਆ' — ਨਾਲ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਦੋਵਾਂ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ 'ਰਣਨੀਤਕ ਭਾਈਵਾਲੀ' ਦੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਠ ਅਹਿਮ ਸਮਝੌਤਿਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਹਸਤਾਖਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਹੁਣ ਓਮਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸੁਲਤਾਨ ਹੈਥਮ ਬਿਨ ਤਾਰਿਕ ਦੇ ਸੱਦੇ 'ਤੇ ਦੁਵੱਲੇ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੀਖਿਆ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰੇ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਅਹਿਮ ਬਿੰਦੂ 'ਵਿਆਪਕ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਸਾਂਝੇਦਾਰੀ ਸਮਝੌਤਾ (CEPA)' ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ। ਜੇਕਰ ਇਸ 'ਤੇ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਵਪਾਰ ਅਗਲੇ ਦੋ-ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁੱਗਣਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਓਮਾਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਿਟਾਇਰਡ ਜੈਗੁਆਰ ਲੜਾਕੂ ਜਹਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਪੇਅਰ ਪਾਰਟਸ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ।

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Oman on Wednesday for the third and final leg of his three-nation tour (Jordan, Ethiopia, and Oman). In a rare gesture of respect, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali personally drove Modi to the airport for his departure.
During his Ethiopia visit, Modi was conferred with the country's highest civilian honor — 'The Great Honor Nishan of Ethiopia'. The two nations elevated their historical ties to a 'Strategic Partnership' and signed eight significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) spanning various sectors.
Now in Oman, at the invitation of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Prime Minister will review bilateral relations. The centerpiece of this visit is expected to be the 'Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA)'. If finalized, this agreement could double the trade between the two nations within the next two to three years. Additionally, there is a strong possibility of Oman supplying spare parts for its retired Jaguar fighter jets to India.
Modi is also scheduled to address a gathering of the Indian diaspora in Muscat. This visit marks the 70th anniversaryof diplomatic relations between India and Oman. Enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and defense is the primary agenda of this tour.
