ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਸੈਨੇਟ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਲਟੀਮੇਟਮ: 25 ਤੱਕ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਾਂ 26 ਨੂੰ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਬੰਦ
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਬਚਾਓ ਮੋਰਚੇ ਨੇ ਸੈਨੇਟ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਰੀਕਾਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੂੰ 25 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਤੱਕ ਅਲਟੀਮੇਟਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਾਂ 26 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੋਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਪੀ ਯੂ ਅਥਾਰਿਟੀ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਹ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕਿਸਾਨ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਤੇ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਨਿੱਜੀਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੈਨੇਟ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਰੀਕਾਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਬਚਾਓ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਣਮਿੱਥੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦਾ ਧਰਨਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਮੋਰਚੇ ਨੇ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੂੰ 25 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ ਅਲਟੀਮੇਟਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਇਸ ਤਰੀਕ ਤੱਕ ਸੈਨੇਟ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਡਿਊਲ ਜਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ 26 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੋਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਤੇ ਪੀ ਯੂ ਅਥਾਰਿਟੀ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਵੱਡਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਇਹ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਨਤਕ ਤੇ ਜਮਹੂਰੀ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ, ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਕਾਰਕੁਨਾਂ, ਕਿਸਾਨ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਤੇ ਆਰ ਐੱਸ ਐੱਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਨਿੱਜੀਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਨਵੀਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੀਤੀ 2020 ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਨਿੱਜੀਕਰਨ, ਕੇਂਦਰੀਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਭਗਵੇਂਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੀ ਸੈਨੇਟ ਤੇ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਮਲਾ ਵੀ ਇਸੇ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਤੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਤੇ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨਕ ਹੱਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਵਧਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਬਨਾਮ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਵਾਂਗ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਕੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਨਿਂਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਪ੍ਰੈੱਸ ਕਾਨਫ਼ਰੰਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਆਗੂ ਪ੍ਰਭਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਨਵਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਅਥਾਰਿਟੀ ਨੇ ਸੈਨੇਟ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਡਿਊਲ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ 25 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਤੱਕ ਸਮਾਂ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜੇ 25 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਤੱਕ ਸੈਨੇਟ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਾਂ 26 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੇਟ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਦਫ਼ਤਰੀ ਕੰਮਕਾਜ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਠੱਪ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਬਚਾਓ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਹੱਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
The Panjab University Bachao Morcha, which is holding an indefinite dharna outside the Vice Chancellor's office demanding the announcement of dates for Panjab University Senate elections, has given an ultimatum to the university administration until November 25. The Morcha said that if the Senate elections schedule is not announced by then, the Panjab University campus will be completely closed on November 26 and a major protest will be held against the central Modi government and PU Authority.
This decision was taken in a meeting with public and democratic organizations of Punjab, social activists, farmers, students, and employee unions. In the meeting, all organizations strongly condemned the attempts by BJP and RSS for privatization and centralization of education. The New Education Policy 2020 was also discussed, through which privatization, centralization, and saffronization of education is being accelerated. The attack on Panjab University's Senate was also described as part of the same plan. The organizations reiterated that Punjab has legal and constitutional rights over the university and this struggle must be extended to all colleges and educational institutions related to the university. They also sharply condemned the central government's attempt to present the issue as Punjab versus Haryana to create divisions among people.
Addressing a press conference, student leaders Prabhjot Singh and Navpreet said that the university authority has sought time until November 25 to issue the Senate elections schedule. If the announcement of Senate elections is not made by November 25, all gates of Panjab University Chandigarh will be closed on November 26 and all official work will be completely halted. The Panjab University Bachao Morcha and other organizations have announced to intensify this struggle further to protect the rights of Punjab over Panjab University.
