ਜੱਗੂ ਭਗਵਾਨਪੁਰੀਆ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੁਖਜਿੰਦਰ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨੋਂ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੀ ਧਮਕੀ
ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਸੁਖਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਨੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਜੱਗੂ ਭਗਵਾਨਪੁਰੀਆ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉਦੈਵੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨੋਂ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੀ ਧਮਕੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗੀ ਦੀ ਦੁਕਾਨ ’ਤੇ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ’ਤੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਜਾਂਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਅਜੇ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਦੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ
ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਉਪ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸੁਖਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਨੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਜੱਗੂ ਭਗਵਾਨਪੁਰੀਆ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉਦੈਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨੋਂ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੀ ਧਮਕੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਨੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਪਲੈਟਫਾਰਮ ਐਕਸ ’ਤੇ ਪੋਸਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਵੀਰਵਾਰ, 31 ਜੁਲਾਈ 2025 ਨੂੰ ਸਵੇਰੇ 10 ਵਜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗੀ ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਫਤਿਹਗੜ੍ਹ ਚੂੜੀਆਂ ਵਿਖੇ ਉਦੈਵੀਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਦੀ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ’ਤੇ ਪਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਘੰਟੇ ਬਾਅਦ, ਸਵੇਰੇ 11 ਵਜੇ, ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਟਰਬਨ ਸੈਂਟਰ ’ਤੇ ਦੋ ਅਣਪਛਾਤੇ ਬਾਈਕ ਸਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸ਼ੁਕਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਹਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਨੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਰੰਧਾਵਾ, ਜੋ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੰਸਦ ਦੇ ਮੌਨਸੂਨ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ, ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਧਮਕੀ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ (ਆਪ) ਸਰਕਾਰ ’ਤੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਸਾਧਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਆਗੂ ਅਰਵਿੰਦ ਕੇਜਰੀਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੱਡਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਨੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਢਹਿ-ਢੇਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਆਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਰ ਦਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਦੇ ਡੀਜੀਪੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਬਟਾਲਾ ਦੇ ਐਸਐਸਪੀ ਸੁਹੇਲ ਕਾਸਿਮ ਮੀਰ ਨੇ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਵੱਖਰੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਪਹਿਲੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਦੈਵੀਰ ਦੀ ਇੰਸਟਾਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਪੋਸਟ ’ਤੇ ਧਮਕੀ ਭਰਿਆ ਕਮੈਂਟ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਲਈ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਇੰਸਟਾਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮੰਗੀ ਹੈ। ਦੂਜੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਟਰਬਨ ਸੈਂਟਰ ’ਤੇ ਹੋਈ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਜੱਗੂ ਭਗਵਾਨਪੁਰੀਆ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਧੀ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਦੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਜੱਗੂ ਭਗਵਾਨਪੁਰੀਆ, ਜੋ ਲਾਰੈਂਸ ਬਿਸ਼ਨੋਈ ਗੈਂਗ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੈ, 128 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਅਸਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਿਲਚਰ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜੂਨ 2025 ਵਿੱਚ ਜੱਗੂ ਭਗਵਾਨਪੁਰੀਆ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਹਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ ਕਰਨਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਬਟਾਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਰਕੀਬ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਬੰਬੀਹਾ ਨੇ ਲਈ ਸੀ। ਭਗਵਾਨਪੁਰੀਆ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਦੈਵੀਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਨੇ ਝੂਠਾ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਜਾ ਵੜਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਜਵਾ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੀ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ’ਤੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਉਠਾਏ।
Gurdaspur Congress MP and former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has alleged that jailed gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria threatened to kill his son, Udhayveer Singh Randhawa. In a post on the social media platform X, Randhawa stated that on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 10 a.m., his associate Parminder Singh met Udhayveer in Fatehgarh Churian. An hour after a photo of the meeting was posted online, at around 11 a.m., two unidentified bike-borne assailants opened fire at Parminder Singh’s turban shop, Dastoor-e-Dastan, in Fatehgarh Churian. Fortunately, no one was injured in the attack.
Randhawa, who is currently in Delhi for the Parliament’s Monsoon Session, stated that he remains undeterred by the threat. He criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal of turning Punjab into a “gangster’s paradise.” Randhawa claimed that law and order in Punjab have completely collapsed, creating a climate of fear among the public. He has informed the Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) about the incident and demanded immediate action.
Batala SSP Suhail Qasim Mir confirmed that two separate incidents are under investigation. The first involves a threatening comment posted on an Instagram reel by Udhayveer, for which the police have sought information from Instagram. The second incident relates to the firing at Parminder Singh’s turban shop. The police have not yet confirmed Jaggu Bhagwanpuria’s direct involvement. Bhagwanpuria, linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and facing over 128 criminal cases, is currently lodged in Silchar jail, Assam.
In June 2025, Bhagwanpuria’s mother, Harjit Kaur, and relative, Karanvir Singh, were killed in a gang-related shooting in Batala, for which the rival Davinder Bambiha gang claimed responsibility. Bhagwanpuria’s family accused Randhawa and Udhayveer of involvement in the killings, a claim Randhawa has denied as false. Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa condemned the incident and raised concerns about the state’s deteriorating law and order situation.
