ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਦੀ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ: ਮਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੰਗ ਨੇ PU ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਪੱਤਰ
ਮਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੰਗ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ ਦੇ 350 ਸਾਲਾ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਦੀ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਤਰ ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਮੇਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਵਾਦਗ੍ਰਸਤ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਰੋਕਣਾ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ 'ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਦਬਾਅ ਹੇਠ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਦਬਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਹੈ।
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਆਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਮਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੰਗ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ ਦੇ 350 ਸਾਲਾ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਨਾ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਤਰ ਲਿਖ ਕੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਦਖਲ ਦੇਣ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਕੰਗ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਪੂਰੀ ਮਾਨਵਤਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਵਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰਬੰਸ ਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ 27 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਣਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਘੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਚਿੰਤਕ ਅਜਮੇਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੇ ਅਜਮੇਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਵਾਦਗ੍ਰਸਤ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਮਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੰਗ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਜਮੇਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਹਾਕਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਨਤਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਕੇਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇਸ਼-ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣਾ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ 'ਤੇ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਹਮਲਾ ਹੈ। ਕੰਗ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠੇ ਆਪਣੇ ‘ਆਕਾਵਾਂ’ ਦੇ ਦਬਾਅ ਹੇਠ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਕੇਂਦਰ ਦੀ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤ ਦਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾਦਾਇਕ ਵਿਰਸਾ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ।
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ‘ਹਿੰਦ ਦੀ ਚਾਦਰ’ ਦੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ 'ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਭਾਈ ਜਸਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਾਲੜਾ ਦੀ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਹਟਾਉਣ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੜੀ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਦਬਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਮਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੰਗ ਨੇ ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂMPa ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ।
MP from Sri Anandpur Sahib and AAP Punjab General Secretary Malvinder Singh Kang has strongly condemned Punjab University Chandigarh for denying permission to a seminar dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. He has written a letter to the Vice Chancellor demanding immediate intervention and approval for the seminar.
Kang stated that Guru Teg Bahadur Ji's martyrdom is not just for the Sikh community but for all humanity. He sacrificed everything not only to protect religion but to save the country's culture and humanity. The seminar was scheduled for October 27 and was to feature renowned Sikh scholar and thinker Ajmer Singh. Punjab University administration canceled the permission citing Ajmer Singh as controversial.
Malvinder Kang said he learned from students that Ajmer Singh has been in public life for over three decades, has no cases against him, and regularly shares his views at universities in India and abroad. Stopping him is a direct attack on academic freedom. Kang alleged that Punjab University administration took this decision under pressure from their 'masters' in Delhi. The BJP central government does not want the history and inspiring legacy of Guru Sahib's martyrdom to reach the younger generation.
He pointed out the irony that while the country remembers the sacrifice of 'Hind di Chadar', Punjab's own university is preventing discussion on Guru Ji's history. This is part of a series of incidents like removing Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra's photo. It is an attempt to suppress the voice of Punjab's youth and Sikh heritage. Malvinder Kang demanded from the Vice Chancellor that students be given full permission to organize the seminar.
