ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਸਾਥੀ ਅਤੇ 'ਵਾਰਿਸ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ' ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਅੱਜ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ 'ਤੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਹੋਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਚੌਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਇਲਜ਼ਾਮ ਲੱਗੇ ਸਨ। ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਇੱਕ ਲਿਖਤੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਸੌਂਪਦਿਆਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਭੁੱਲ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਮੁਆਫ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ
ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਦੇ ਉਲੰਘਣ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਜ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਸਕੱਤਰੇਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਹੋਏ। ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਸਮਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਵਾਇਰਲ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੌਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸ 'ਤੇ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਜਤਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਦੇ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਅੱਜ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਸਹਿਤ ਜਥੇਦਾਰ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਰਘਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਇੱਕ ਪੱਤਰ ਸੌਂਪਿਆ। ਇਸ ਪੱਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਜਾਣੇ-ਅਣਜਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਦੀ ਭੁੱਲ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਵਜੋਂ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਸਜ਼ਾ (ਤਨਖਾਹ) ਲਗਾਈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੜੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ 'ਤੇ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਿੱਖ ਜਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੀ ਸੀ। ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਸਕੱਤਰੇਤ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ 'ਤੇ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਪੰਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਦੀ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਗਲੀ ਇਕੱਤਰਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੂੰ 'ਵਾਰਿਸ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ' ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਮ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਹੋਣਾ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਅਹਿਮੀਅਤ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।
In a matter concerning the violation of religious code (Maryada), Gobind Singh Sandhu appeared before the Secretariat of Sri Akal Takht Sahib today. The controversy erupted after a video of Sandhu performing the 'Chaur Sahib' sewa (service) in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji went viral. He appealed to the Five High Priests (Panj Singh Sahiban) for forgiveness, stating that he is ready to accept any religious penance (Tankhah) prescribed by the highest temporal seat of the Sikhs.

The Secretariat has formally received the petition, and a final decision on the matter is expected to be taken during the upcoming meeting of the Five High Priests.
