ਕੱਟੜਾ ਦੇ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਰੋਪਵੇਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਵੀ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਜਾਰੀ
ਭੁੱਖ ਹੜਤਾਲ ’ਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਲਈ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੋਏ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਇੱਕ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਸਿਹਤ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਵੈਸ਼ਨੋ ਦੇਵੀ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਸਮਿਤੀ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ 18 ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਜ਼ੋਰ-ਸ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਜੰਮੂ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਕੁਟਾ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੋਪਵੇਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਕਾਰਨ ਵੈਸ਼ਨੋ ਦੇਵੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦਾ ਅਧਾਰ ਕੈਂਪ ਕੱਟੜਾ ਅੱਜ ਸੱਤਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ਵੀ ਬੰਦ ਰਿਹਾ। ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੰਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਤੀ ਲਈ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਸਥਿਤੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੱਟੜਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ, ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਮੁਲਤਵੀ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਭੁੱਖ ਹੜਤਾਲ ’ਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਲਈ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੋਏ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਇੱਕ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਸਿਹਤ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਵੈਸ਼ਨੋ ਦੇਵੀ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਸਮਿਤੀ ਦੇ ਨੇਤਾ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ 18 ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਜ਼ੋਰ-ਸ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਰੋਪਵੇਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਲਾਗਤ ਲਗਭਗ 250 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਹੈ, ਤਰਾਕੋਟ ਮਾਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਛੱਤ ਮਾਰਗ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂਆਂ ਲਈ ਸੁਵਿਧਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਗੁਫਾ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ 13 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਲੰਬੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਇਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਲੋਕ ਅਤੇ ਵਪਾਰੀ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਜੈਕਟ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੋਜ਼ੀ-ਰੋਟੀ ’ਤੇ ਅਸਰ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਵੈਸ਼ਨੋ ਦੇਵੀ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਸਮਿਤੀ ਨੇ ਬੰਦ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਧਮਕੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੰਗਾਂ ਮੰਨੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ। ਇੱਥੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੜਕਾਂ ਸੁੰਨੀ ਪਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਮ ਜਨਜੀਵਨ ਠੱਪ ਹੈ।
The ongoing protest against the proposed ropeway project in the Trikuta Hills of Jammu and Kashmir has led to the shutdown of Katra, the base camp for the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage, for the seventh consecutive day. Demonstrators have intensified their efforts to press their demands. As a result, all commercial activities, shops, and services in Katra remain suspended.
Health department officials visited the youth on a hunger strike to monitor their condition. One protestor was admitted to the hospital due to deteriorating health. Leaders of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti, including Bhupinder Singh and 18 other members, are demanding their release after being detained during the anti-ropeway march in Katra.
The ropeway project, estimated to cost ₹250 crore, aims to connect the Tarakote route with the Sanjichhat path, facilitating easier access for devotees facing difficulties traversing the 13-kilometer path to the Vaishno Devi shrine. However, local residents and traders strongly oppose the project, fearing its impact on their livelihoods.
The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sangharsh Samiti has threatened to continue the shutdown until their demands are met. Roads in Katra remain deserted, and daily life in the town is at a standstill.
