ਬਿਕਰਮ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਰਾਹਤ: ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਨੇ ਆਮਦਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ
ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਨੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਆਗੂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬਿਕਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਆਮਦਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਜਸਟਿਸ ਵਿਕਰਮ ਨਾਥ ਅਤੇ ਜਸਟਿਸ ਸੰਦੀਪ ਮਹਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਬੈਂਚ ਨੇ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਦੀ ਸੱਤ ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ NDPS ਕੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲੀ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ਨੂੰ ਅਧਾਰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਇਹ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ। ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਵਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਸਮਾਂ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਉਂ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ
ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਆਗੂ ਬਿਕਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਲਈ ਅੱਜ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਵੱਡੀ ਰਾਹਤ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ। ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸਰਵਉੱਚ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਮਦਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ (Disproportionate Assets) ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸੱਤ ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਾਭਾ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਸਨ। ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਹਾਈ ਕੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨ 'ਤੇ ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇਹ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤੇ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ਅਰਜ਼ੀ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ।
ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜਸਟਿਸ ਵਿਕਰਮ ਨਾਥ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੇ ਬੈਂਚ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਰੁਖ਼ 'ਤੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਚੁੱਕਦਿਆਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, "ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ?" ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ ਨੋਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰੀ (NDPS) ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ਮਿਲ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਵੀ ਰੱਦ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਸਾਲ 2007 ਤੋਂ 2017 ਦੀ ਮਿਆਦ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਹੈ, ਜਦਕਿ FIR ਸਾਲ 2025 ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਦੇ ਵਕੀਲ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ 'ਸਿਆਸੀ ਬਦਲਾਖੋਰੀ' ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਇਹ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੇਰਾ ਬਿਆਸ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਬਾਬਾ ਗੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਢਿੱਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਨੇ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਦਾ ਨਿੱਘਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਦੀ ਰਿਹਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਲਈ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਅਹਿਮ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੁਝਾਰੂ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹਨ।
In a major legal victory for Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) heavyweight Bikram Singh Majithia, the Supreme Court of India today granted him bail in the high-profile disproportionate assets case. Majithia had been lodged in Nabha Jail for the last seven months.
