ਬਿਕਰਮ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਨੂੰ 7 ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਿਆ
ਬਿਕਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਆਮਦਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਅਤੇ 540 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਹੇਰ-ਫੇਰ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹਨ, ਨੂੰ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ ਸੱਤ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਸਖਤ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ 2 ਜੁਲਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਦੇ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠਾ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ’ਤੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਬੁਖਲਾਹਟ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਇਆ।
ਆਮਦਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਅਤੇ 540 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਹੇਰ-ਫੇਰ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬਿਕਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਦੀ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਖਤ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਜੁਡੀਸ਼ਲ ਮੈਜਿਸਟਰੇਟ ਫਸਟ ਕਲਾਸ-ਕਮ-ਡਿਊਟੀ ਮੈਜਿਸਟਰੇਟ ਕਿਰਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਭਗ ਢਾਈ ਘੰਟੇ ਦੀ ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਤ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ 2 ਜੁਲਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਨੇ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਦੀ 12 ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਮੰਗੀ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ ਸੱਤ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਦੀ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਗਿਆਰਾਂ ਵਜੇ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਦੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਗੇਟ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ, ਨਾ ਕਿ ਮੁੱਖ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਤੋਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਢਕਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਬਾਹਰ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਪਤਾ ਨਾ ਲੱਗੇ। ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਮਨਾਹੀ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵੱਲ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸੜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਅਦਾਲਤ ਦੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਗੇਟਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕੋ ਸਮੇਂ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਐਂਟਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਜਾਣ ਸਕੇ ਕਿ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਗੇਟ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ। ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਰੇਂਜ ਦੇ ਡੀਆਈਜੀ ਹਰਚਰਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁੱਲਰ, ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਐੱਸਐੱਸਪੀ ਹਰਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਹਾਂਸ, ਅਤੇ ਰੂਪਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਐੱਸਐੱਸਪੀ ਗੁਲਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖੁਰਾਣਾ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਫੈਰੀ ਸੋਫਤ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਇੰਦਰ ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਦੀ 12 ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਮੰਗੀ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਨੇ ਸੱਤ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕੇਸ ਨਾਰਕੋਟਿਕਸ (ਐੱਨਡੀਪੀਐੱਸ) ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਸਗੋਂ 540 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਹੇਰ-ਫੇਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਮਦਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਖੁਲਾਸਾ ਐੱਨਡੀਪੀਐੱਸ ਕੇਸ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ 2007 ਤੱਕ ਗੋਰਖਪੁਰ (ਯੂਪੀ) ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਐੱਸਆਈਐੱਲ ਫਰਮ ਦੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਰਹੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੇਅਰਧਾਰਕ ਹਨ। ਕੰਪਨੀ ਦੇ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਂਕ ਖਾਤਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ 161 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ, 2012 ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸੇ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਦੀ 236 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਸਾਇਪ੍ਰਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੰਪਨੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਲਏ ਗਏ ਲੋਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਿੰਗੇ ਸ਼ੇਅਰ ਖਰੀਦ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੌਡੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਅ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹੇਰ-ਫੇਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਸਿੰਗਾਪੁਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਫਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਕਰੋੜਾਂ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਲੈਣ-ਦੇਣ ਹੋਇਆ। ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਪਤਨੀ ਗਨੀਵ ਕੌਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਇਨਕਮ ਟੈਕਸ ਰਿਟਰਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਣ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਲਫਨਾਮਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ 47 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਫਰਕ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਜੋ ਕੁੱਲ 540 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਹੇਰ-ਫੇਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੱਥ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਉਣਗੇ।
ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਦੇ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਅਰਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਲੇਰ, ਹਰਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਨੋਆ, ਅਤੇ ਅਰਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੀਮਾ ਨੇ ਕੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਝੂਠਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਗਸ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਇਸ ਕੇਸ ਨੂੰ ‘ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਯੁੱਧ’ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਆਮਦਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੀ ਖਾਣੀ ਪਈ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕੇਸ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਬੁਖਲਾਹਟ ਦਾ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਖਾਮੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਉਠਾਉਂਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ਲਈ ਪਟੀਸ਼ਨ ਦਾਇਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਧਿਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਈਵੇਟ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ’ਤੇ ਵੀ ਸਵਾਲ ਉਠਾਏ।
Bikram Singh Majithia, a former Shiromani Akali Dal minister, arrested for disproportionate assets and alleged financial fraud involving 540 crore rupees, was presented in a Mohali court under tight security arrangements. After a nearly two-and-a-half-hour court hearing before Judicial Magistrate First Class-cum-Duty Magistrate Kirandeep Singh, Majithia was sent to seven-day vigilance custody. He is scheduled to appear in court again on July 2. The vigilance department had sought a 12-day custody, but the court approved only seven days.
Majithia was brought to the Mohali court around 11 a.m. through the rear gate, not the main entrance. The windows of the vehicles transporting him were covered with curtains to maintain secrecy. Media access to the court premises was restricted, and all roads leading to the court were closed. Vehicles entered through both court gates simultaneously to conceal which gate Majithia was brought through. Security arrangements were overseen by Rupnagar Range DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, Mohali SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans, and Rupnagar SSP Gulneet Singh Khurana. Police from multiple districts were deployed to ensure security.
Government lawyers Fairy Soft and Preetinder Pal Singh told reporters that they had requested a 12-day vigilance custody for Majithia, but the court granted seven days. They clarified that this case is not related to narcotics (NDPS) but pertains to financial fraud and disproportionate assets worth 540 crore rupees. This revelation emerged during the investigation of an NDPS case.
The government lawyers stated that Majithia was a director of SIL Firm, located in Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), until 2007, with his wife and family members as shareholders. The company’s records and bank accounts show no accounting for 161 crore rupees. Similarly, in 2012, 236 crore rupees from the same company remain unaccounted for. Loans taken from Cyprus-based companies were used to purchase expensive shares, which were later repurchased at nominal prices, indicating financial fraud. Transactions worth crores were also made with a Singapore-based firm. The lawyers noted that a discrepancy of 47 lakh rupees was found in the income tax returns and election commission affidavits of Majithia and his MLA wife, Ganeev Kaur, contributing to the total 540 crore rupees in question. The vigilance investigation will uncover all these facts.
Majithia’s defense lawyers, Arshdeep Singh Kaler, Harneet Singh Dhanoa, and Arshdeep Singh Cheema, called the case completely false and fabricated. They told reporters that Aam Aadmi Party leaders are linking this case to the ‘war against drugs’ campaign for publicity, but in court, it was presented solely as a disproportionate assets case. They said the Supreme Court had previously heard this matter, and the Punjab government faced a setback. They alleged that the case is a result of the government’s frustration because Majithia has been raising his voice against the government’s shortcomings. The lawyers stated that a bail petition for Majithia will soon be filed. They also questioned the government’s decision to involve private lawyers in the case.
