ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਖਤ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ: ਵੱਡੇ ਰਸੂਖਵਾਨ ਵੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਰਹਿਣ
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬਿਕਰਮ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਦੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਇਜ਼ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਵੱਡੇ ਸਿਆਸਤਦਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਫਸਰਾਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਸਖਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਪਾਕ ਗੱਠਜੋੜ ਦੱਸ ਕੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਬਦਲਾਖੋਰੀ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਣੀਆਂ ਜਾਇਦਾਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਤੇਜ਼ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬਿਕਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਇਜ਼ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਵੱਡੇ ਰਸੂਖਵਾਨ ਵੀ ਹੁਣ ਤਿਆਰ ਰਹਿਣ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ਼ਾਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਹੋਰ ਅਹਿਮ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤਾਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਵੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਨੇ ਬਿਕਰਮ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਦੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀ 540 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਸੇ ਦੀ ਹੇਰ-ਫੇਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਠੋਸ ਸਬੂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ ’ਤੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਚਿਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਧੰਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਵੱਡੇ ਸਿਆਸਤਦਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਫਸਰਾਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਵੀ ਜਲਦੀ ਸਖਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਨੇ ਵਿਜੀਲੈਂਸ ਦੀ ਛਾਪੇਮਾਰੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗ਼ਲਤਫਹਿਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਏਗਾ। ਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ’ਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਸਿਫਾਰਸ਼ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਮੁੱਦੇ ’ਤੇ ਇਕਜੁੱਟਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਪਾਕ ਗੱਠਜੋੜ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਪਾਰ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਸਖਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਜੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਕਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡੇਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਦੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਕਰੋੜ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਦੁਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਹਿਰੀ ਜੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ।
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has justified the arrest of former Shiromani Akali Dal minister Bikram Singh Majithia by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, declaring that influential figures involved in drug trafficking must be prepared for action. He hinted that more prominent political figures could soon face arrests in the ongoing anti-drug campaign. Mann stated that the vigilance bureau’s recent action against Majithia, accused of laundering 540 crore rupees in drug money, was based on solid evidence. He further warned that strict action will be taken against major politicians and officers involved in the drug trade.
Addressing the challenge issued by Majithia during his arrest by the vigilance bureau, Mann said, “I have no fear, but influential figures involved in drug trafficking should not be under the illusion that anyone will save them. No mercy will be shown, and no recommendations will be accepted.” Responding to the unity shown by opposition parties in support of Majithia, he remarked that those who previously complained about the government not catching “big fish” are now calling the action against Majithia wrong, exposing their unholy alliance. Mann stated that the opposition’s support for drug traffickers suggests they may also be involved in illegal activities, accusing them of politicizing the issue to protect themselves.
Rejecting allegations of political vendetta, Mann emphasized his accountability to the people of Punjab and vowed to continue action against drug traffickers who have built multi-story houses by destroying the homes of ordinary citizens. He announced that properties built with illicit drug money will be demolished. Mann claimed that the Punjab government has broken the drug supply chain, with 80 to 90 percent of traffickers denied bail. He noted that the Enforcement Directorate has previously investigated Majithia and may do so again. Asserting that the Aam Aadmi Party government is fulfilling its promises, Mann said the anti-drug campaign has become a people’s movement, with Punjab’s panchayats passing resolutions against bailing out drug traffickers.
