ਅਟਾਰੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ’ਤੇ ਹੋਈ ਰੀਟਰੀਟ ਸੈਰੇਮਨੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਕਿ ਰੇਂਜਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੱਥ ਮਿਲਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਕਦਮ ਪਹਿਲਗਾਮ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੇ ਰੋਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਸਰਹੱਦਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਲਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਘੱਟ ਰਹੀ
ਅਟਾਰੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ’ਤੇ ਅੱਜ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਝੰਡਾ ਉਤਾਰਨ ਦੀ ਰੀਟਰੀਟ ਸੈਰੇਮਨੀ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਈ। ਪਹਿਲਗਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਏ ਦਹਿਸ਼ਤਗਰਦ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਨਿਖੇਧਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਰਵੱਈਆ ਅਖਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਅੱਜ ਦੀ ਰਸਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਗੇਟ ਬੰਦ ਰੱਖੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਰੇਂਜਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਹੱਥ ਮਿਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਰਸਮ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਬੀਐੱਸਐੱਫ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਫਰੰਟੀਅਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਿਕ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਪਹਿਲਗਾਮ ਹਮਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਗਏ ਰਣਨੀਤਿਕ ਕਦਮਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਰੀਟਰੀਟ ਸੈਰੇਮਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਸ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਅਤੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਜੋਸ਼ੀਲੀ ਨੁਮਾਇਸ਼ ਨਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੀ।
ਇਹ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਕੇਵਲ ਅਟਾਰੀ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਹੁਸੈਨੀਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਧਕੀ ਸਰਹੱਦਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਵੀ ਲਾਗੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਸਰਹੱਦੀ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ’ਚ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲੀਸ, ਨੀਮ ਫੌਜੀ ਬਲ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਾਕਾਬੰਦੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਉਣ-ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਖੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਰਸਮੀ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਜ ਰੀਟਰੀਟ ਦੇਖਣ ਆਏ ਸੈਲਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵੀ ਕਾਫੀ ਘੱਟ ਰਹੀ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਜੋ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਇਥੇ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਮਹਾਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਤੋਂ ਆਏ ਸੈਲਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਗਾਮ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧ ਤੋੜਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਲ ਸੰਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਜਿਹੇ ਕਦਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਾਰਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਦੁਕਾਨਦਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰੈਸਟੋਰੈਂਟ ਓਨਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਰੀਟਰੀਟ ਦੀ ਰਵਾਇਤ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਹੀ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਸੈਲਾਨੀਆਂ ਆਉਣੇ ਬੰਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਮਦਨ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਅਸਰ ਪਵੇਗਾ।
During today’s evening retreat ceremony at the Attari border, a significant change in protocol was observed as a mark of protest by India against the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. In a show of displeasure and strong retaliation, Indian security forces kept the border gates closed and refused the traditional handshake with Pakistani Rangers during the daily Beating Retreat Ceremony.
The Border Security Force (BSF) Punjab Frontier officially announced on social media that this symbolic act was a part of India’s strategic reaction after the terror incident. This decision was not limited to Attari but also extended to Hussainiwala and Sadqi border posts, where similar modifications were implemented.
Security arrangements around the Attari border were intensified. Punjab Police, paramilitary forces, and other agencies conducted strict checks at all entry points. Compared to usual days, there was a noticeable dip in the number of tourists. Visitors who had arrived early in the morning were sent back due to security concerns and restricted access to the area.
Tourists from Maharashtra, who had traveled to witness the ceremony, strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attackand supported India’s stern approach, suggesting cutting diplomatic ties with Pakistan and suspending water treaties.
Local shopkeepers and restaurant owners expressed their concern over reduced tourist activity, though they supported the government’s decision. They emphasized that if visitors stop coming, it would directly affect their livelihoods.
