ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਨਾ ਦੇਣ ਤੇ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਵਾਰਸ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕੀਤਾ

ਅਸਾਮ ਦੀ ਡਿਬਰੂਗੜ੍ਹ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਖਡੂਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਹਲਕੇ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਨਾ ਦੇਣ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਵਾਰਸ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਮੰਗ ਪੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਫ਼ੈਸਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਚੁਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਇੱਕ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਸੰਮੇਲਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਾਪੂ ਤਰਸੇਮ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪਰਮਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੌਹਲ, ਹਰਭਜਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੁੜ, ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ੇਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੱਧਰੀ, ਅਮਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਨ ਚਿੜੀ, ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਾਦੀਆਂ, ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਦਇਆ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪਰਗਟ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜਸਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਆਗੂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ। ਇਹ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਸੰਮੇਲਨ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਵਾਰਸ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਹਾਲੀਆ ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੀੜਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਬਾਪੂ ਤਰਸੇਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ 3 ਸਤੰਬਰ 2025 ਨੂੰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੀ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਮਿਤ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਮੰਗ ਪੱਤਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਖਡੂਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਹਲਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਗੰਬੀਰ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਗਾਮ ਪੂਰੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਡੁੱਬ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਫ਼ਸਲਾਂ, ਪਸ਼ੂ ਅਤੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਭੁੱਖੇ-ਪਿਆਸੇ ਪੀੜਤ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਰੋਲ ਤੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਲਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਖਤਿਆਰੀ ਫੰਡ (ਐੱਮਪੀਐੱਲਏਡੀ ਫੰਡ) ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪੀੜਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਵਾਰਸ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ, ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ, ਫ਼ਾਜ਼ਿਲਕਾ, ਕਪੂਰਥਲਾ, ਫ਼ਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਪਠਾਨਕੋਟ ਵਰਗੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ 21 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਰਾਹਤ ਕੈਂਪ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਭੋਜਨ, ਫ਼ਲਾਹ ਭੁੱਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਬਾਪੂ ਤਰਸੇਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਬੇਤੁਕੀਆਂ ਦਲੀਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਅਪੀਲ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਦੇ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਹੈ ਬਲਕਿ ਆਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਚੁਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹਲਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੀੜਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ ਤਾਂ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਆਫ਼ਤ ਘੋਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਰਾਹਤ ਪੈਕੇਜ ਐਲਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।

ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਸੰਮੇਲਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਫ਼ੈਸਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਨਿਆਂਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਸੈਕਿਊਰਿਟੀ ਐਕਟ (ਐੱਨਐੱਸਏ) ਅਧੀਨ ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ 2024 ਦੀਆਂ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਿੱਤੇ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਖਡੂਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਮੀਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਖੁਸ਼ੀਆਂ-ਗ਼ਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ, ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਰਗੀ ਆਫ਼ਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਆਉਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ। ਆਗੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ। ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਵਾਰਸ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਪੰਥਕ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਜਲਦੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਇਹ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ।

Leaders of Akali Dal Waris Punjab have strongly objected to the denial of parole to Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh, who is lodged in Dibrugarh Jail in Assam, in connection with the flood relief in Punjab. Terming the government's decision to reject the demand letter for granting parole to Amritpal Singh as anti-democratic, the leaders stated that it is an attack on the rights of an elected representative. This objection was voiced today at a press conference held in Tarn Taran, which was attended by Amritpal Singh's father Baba Tarsem Singh, Parmjit Singh Johal, Harbhajan Singh Tur, Shamshir Singh Padhri, Amarjit Singh Van Chirri, Sukhdev Singh Kadian, Amandeep Singh, Daia Singh, Pargat Singh, Jaswinder Singh, and other party leaders. The press conference was organized by Akali Dal Waris Punjab, and it reiterated the demand to grant parole to Amritpal Singh for helping flood victims in Punjab.

Baba Tarsem Singh told the journalists that on September 3, 2025, a demand letter was sent to Union Home Minister Amit Shah through the Deputy Commissioner Amritsar, seeking at least one-month parole for Amritpal Singh. He said that due to floods in the Khadoor Sahib constituency, a serious situation has arisen and many villages have been completely submerged. There has been massive damage to crops, livestock, and houses, and people are suffering without food and water. Therefore, the MP should be released on parole so that he can come to his constituency and help the affected people through his MPLAD funds. He added that Akali Dal Waris Punjab has already set up more than 21 relief camps in districts like Tarn Taran, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Ferozepur, Kapurthala, Fazilka, and Pathankot to provide food, fodder, and other assistance. Baba Tarsem Singh accused the central and Punjab governments of rejecting this appeal with baseless arguments, which is not only an attack on the basic rights of democracy but also affects the protection of common people's rights. He said that if an elected representative cannot stand with his constituents during such a crisis, how will the voice of ordinary citizens be heard. He also demanded that the floods be declared a national calamity and a special relief package be announced.

Other leaders at the press conference also called the government's decision unjust and stated that Amritpal Singh has been kept in jail for three years under the National Security Act (NSA), but he won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with record votes. It was also mentioned that through his election, the people of Khadoor Sahib expect him to stand with them in times of joy and sorrow, but even during this flood disaster, he is not being allowed to come. The leaders said that the presence of the MP is also necessary to prevent diseases arising from floods in Punjab. Akali Dal Waris Punjab announced on this occasion to strengthen its role in Punjab's panthic politics and assured to continue reaching the demand for Amritpal Singh's early release to the people. This objection has also become a topic of discussion in Punjab's politics, and opposition parties have viewed it as a challenge.
