ਇਸਰੋ ਦੇ PSLV-C61 ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਤੀਜੇ ਪੜਾਅ 'ਚ ਨੁਕਸ ਕਾਰਨ EOS-09 ਉਪਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਲਾਂਚ ਅਸਫਲ

ਭਾਰਤੀ ਅੰਤਰਿਕਸ਼ ਖੋਜ ਸੰਸਥਾ (ISRO) ਨੂੰ 18 ਮਈ 2025 ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ 101ਵੇਂ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਝਟਕਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ, ਜਦੋਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਨਿਰੀਖਣ ਉਪਗ੍ਰਹਿ EOS-09 ਨੂੰ ਲਾਂਚ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ PSLV-C61 ਰਾਕੇਟ ਤੀਜੇ ਪੜਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਖ਼ਾਮੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਸ੍ਰੀਹਰੀਕੋਟਾ ਸਥਿਤ ਸਤੀਸ਼ ਧਵਨ ਅੰਤਰਿਕਸ਼ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਸਵੇਰੇ 5:59 ਵਜੇ ਲਾਂਚ ਹੋਏ ਇਸ PSLV-C61 ਰਾਕੇਟ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦੋ ਪੜਾਅ ਸਫਲਤਾਪੂਰਵਕ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀਤੇ, ਪਰ ਤੀਜੇ ਪੜਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੋਟਰ ਚੈਂਬਰ ਦੇ ਦਬਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਮੀ ਆਉਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਧੂਰਾ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ।
ISRO ਦੇ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ ਵੀ. ਨਾਰਾਇਣਨ ਨੇ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ PSLV ਇੱਕ ਚਾਰ ਪੜਾਅ ਵਾਲਾ ਵਹੀਕਲ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦੋ ਪੜਾਅ ਆਮ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਤੀਜੇ ਪੜਾਅ ਦੀ ਮੋਟਰ ਸਹੀ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਚਾਲੂ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਪੜਾਅ ਦੇ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮੋਟਰ ਕੇਸ ਦੇ ਚੈਂਬਰ ਦਬਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਘਾਰ ਆਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਿਆ।
EOS-09 ਉਪਗ੍ਰਹਿ, ਜਿਸਨੂੰ RISAT-1B ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇੱਕ ਰਾਡਾਰ ਇਮੇਜਿੰਗ ਸੈਟੇਲਾਈਟ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਉੱਚ ਰੈਜ਼ੋਲਿਊਸ਼ਨ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਉਪਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ, ਜੰਗਲਾਤ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ, ਆਫ਼ਤ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ, ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਯੋਜਨਾਬੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਲਈ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਸੀ।
ਇਹ PSLV ਦੀ 63ਵੀਂ ਉਡਾਣ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ 1993 ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ PSLV ਦੀ ਤੀਜੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਨਾਕਾਮੀ ਹੈ। ISRO ਨੇ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਅਸਫਲਤਾ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਫੇਲਿਅਰ ਵਿਸ਼ਲੇਸ਼ਣ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਗਠਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਤੀਜੇ ਪੜਾਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਈ ਖ਼ਾਮੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰੇਗੀ।

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) faced a significant setback on May 18, 2025, during its 101st mission when the PSLV-C61 rocket failed to launch the Earth observation satellite EOS-09 due to a technical anomaly in the third stage. The rocket lifted off at 5:59 AM from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, with the first two stages performing nominally. However, during the third stage, a drop in chamber pressure in the motor case led to the mission's failure.
ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan stated that while the PSLV is a four-stage vehicle, and the third stage motor ignited correctly, an observation during its functioning prevented the mission from being accomplished.
The EOS-09 satellite, also known as RISAT-1B, was equipped with a synthetic aperture radar capable of capturing high-resolution images of the Earth's surface in all weather conditions. It was intended for applications in agriculture, forestry monitoring, disaster management, urban planning, and national security.
This mission marked the 63rd flight of the PSLV and is the third failure since its inception in 1993. ISRO has constituted a Failure Analysis Committee to investigate the cause of the anomaly in the third stage.
Despite this recent failure, ISRO has established itself internationally with successful missions like Mangalyaan and Chandrayaan. It is expected that ISRO will learn from this setback and plan more robust missions in the future
