ਚੱਕਰਵਾਤੀ ਤੂਫਾਨ ਮੋਂਥਾ ਨੇ ਆਂਧਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਤੱਟ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹਿਆ; ਕਈ ਘਰ ਢਹਿ ਗਏ, ਉਡਾਣਾਂ ਰੱਦ

ਚੱਕਰਵਾਤੀ ਤੂਫਾਨ ਮੋਂਥਾ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਦੇਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਆਂਧਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਮਚਲੀਪਟਨਮ ਤੱਟ ਨਾਲ ਟਕਰਾਵਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਕੰਢੇ ਵੱਲ ਵੱਸੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਘਰ ਡਿੱਗ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਹੁਣੇ ਹੀ 100 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਘੰਟਾ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਰਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਜ਼ ਹਵਾਵਾਂ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਉੱਠ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਚੱਕਰਵਾਤੀ ਤੂਫਾਨ ਮੋਂਥਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ 16 ਫੁੱਟ ਤੱਕ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਉੱਠ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਬੰਗਾਲ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਪੈਣ ਦਾ ਅਲਰਟ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਛੀਆਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਚੱਕਰਵਾਤੀ ਤੂਫਾਨ ਮੋਂਥਾ ਦੇ ਅਸਰ ਨਾਲ ਤਿਲੰਗਾਨਾ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ਾਬਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਆਂਧਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਵਿਜੈਵਾੜਾ, ਵਿਸ਼ਾਖਾਪਟਨਮ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਾਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ 37 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਡਾਣਾਂ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਾਕੀਨਾਡਾ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਆਂਧਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਤੱਟ ਨੇੜੇ 30 ਇੰਡੀਗੋ, ਦੋ ਏਅਰ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜ ਏਅਰ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਐਕਸਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਡਾਣਾਂ ਰੱਦ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਖਾਪਟਨਮ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੈਨਵਰਮ ਅੱਡੇ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਐਕਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੋਸਟ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਐਸਸੀਐਸ ਮੋਂਥਾ ਉੱਤਰ-ਉੱਤਰ-ਪੱਛਮ ਵੱਲ ਵਧ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਆਂਧਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ 39 ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰੀ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਅਸਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਐੱਨ ਚੰਦਰਬਾਬੂ ਨਾਇਡੂ ਨੇ ਮੰਤਰੀਆਂ, ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਨ-ਮਾਲ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਆਂਧਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ 800 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਰਾਹਤ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਸਟਰ ਰਿਸਪਾਂਸ ਫੋਰਸ (ਐੱਨਡੀਆਰਐੱਫ) ਨੇ 10 ਟੀਮਾਂ ਆਂਧਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਚੱਕਰਵਾਤੀ ਤੂਫਾਨ ਮੋਂਥਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਉੜੀਸ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਅੱਠ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੀਂਹ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸੂਬਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਮਲਕਾਨਗਿਰੀ, ਕੋਰਾਪੁਟ, ਰਾਏਗੜਾ, ਗਜਪਤੀ, ਗੰਜਮ, ਨਬਰੰਗਪੁਰ, ਕਾਲਾਹਾਂਡੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਧਮਾਲ ਦੇ ਨੀਵੇਂ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਖਿਸਕਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉੜੀਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ 3,000 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਥਾਂਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਬਦਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ 2,000 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਰਾਹਤ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਪੂਰਬੀ ਤੱਟ ਰੇਲਵੇ ਨੇ ਵਾਲਟੇਅਰ ਖੇਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਰੂਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਕੁਝ ਰੇਲਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਕਰਨ, ਡਾਇਵਰਟ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਥਾਈ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਰੋਕਣ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉੜੀਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ 32 ਰੇਲਾਂ ਰੱਦ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਐੱਨਡੀਆਰਐੱਫ ਨੇ 6 ਟੀਮਾਂ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਾਮਿਲਨਾਡੂ ਦੇ ਤਿਰੂਵਲੂਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਪੈਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ। ਤਿਰੂਵਲੂਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਕਲੈਕਟਰ ਐੱਮ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਨੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਲਈ ਛੁੱਟੀ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਚੇਨਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਤਰੀ ਮੌਸਮ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਕੇਂਦਰ (ਆਰਐੱਮਸੀ) ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਚੇਂਗਲਪੱਟੂ, ਚੇਨਈ, ਕਾਂਚੀਪੁਰਮ, ਰਾਣੀਪੇਟ, ਤਿਰੂਵਲੂਰ, ਤਿਰੂਵੰਨਮਲਾਈ, ਵੇਲੋਰ, ਤਿਰੂਪੱਤੂਰ, ਵਿੱਲੂਪੁਰਮ, ਟੇਨਕਾਸੀ, ਤਿਰੂਨੇਲਵੇਲੀ, ਥੂਥੂਕੁੜੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਨਿਆਕੁਮਾਰੀ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਗਰਜ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਦਰਮਿਆਨਾ ਮੀਂਹ ਪੈਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ। ਉੱਤਰੀ ਤਾਮਿਲਨਾਡੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰੀ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਨਥਮਾਡੂ ਝੀਲ ਉੱਪਰ ਵਹਿ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਵਾਡੀ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਐੱਨਡੀਆਰਐੱਫ ਨੇ ਤਾਮਿਲਨਾਡੂ ਵਿੱਚ 3 ਟੀਮਾਂ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਮੱਛੀਆਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ 29 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਤੱਕ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਇੰਡੀਆ ਮੀਟੀਓਰੋਲਾਜੀਕਲ ਡਿਪਾਰਟਮੈਂਟ (ਆਈਐੱਮਡੀ) ਨੇ ਚੱਕਰਵਾਤੀ ਤੂਫਾਨ ਮੋਂਥਾ ਲਈ ਆਂਧਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼, ਯਾਨਮ, ਉੜੀਸ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਮਿਲਨਾਡੂ ਤੱਟਾਂ ਲਈ ਲਾਲ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੂਫਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਲੰਗਾਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਛੱਤੀਸਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਭਾਰੀ ਬਾਰਿਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ। ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਰੇਲਵੇ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਵੈਸ਼ਨਾਵ ਨੇ ਰੇਲਵੇ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਤੱਟ ਰੇਲਵੇ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਰੇਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

Cyclone Montha made landfall late this evening near the Machilipatnam coast in Andhra Pradesh. As a result, several houses in coastal areas have collapsed. Currently, winds exceeding 100 km per hour are blowing, and large sea waves are rising, causing damage to homes. The weather department has warned that Cyclone Montha could generate waves up to 16 feet high in the sea. On the other hand, a heavy rain alert has been issued for several districts in West Bengal, and fishermen have been advised to stay away from the sea.

Due to the impact of Cyclone Montha, more than 37 flights operating between Shamshabad in Telangana and Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, and Rajahmundry airports in Andhra Pradesh have been cancelled. Officials said that near the Kakinada coast in Andhra Pradesh, 30 IndiGo, two Air India, and five Air India Express flights have been grounded. Additionally, Visakhapatnam airport has been shut down, and Gannavaram airport is also affected.

The weather department posted on X stating that SCS Montha is moving north-northwest. This could lead to heavy rainfall in 39 constituencies of Andhra Pradesh. In response, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed ministers, parliament members, and officials to protect people's lives and property. The Andhra Pradesh government has opened over 800 relief centers and shifted pregnant women to hospitals. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed 10 teams in Andhra.

Besides, Cyclone Montha has brought rain to eight districts in southern Odisha. The state government has evacuated people from low-lying areas and landslide-prone hilly regions in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal. Over 3,000 people have been relocated to safe places in Odisha, and more than 2,000 relief centers have been opened. The East Coast Railway has announced cancellations, diversions, and temporary halts for some trains in the Waltair area and adjacent routes. 32 trains have been cancelled in Odisha, and NDRF has positioned 6 teams there.

Similarly, heavy rain is likely in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. Tiruvallur District Collector M Prathap has declared a holiday for schools on Tuesday due to the possibility of heavy rain. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Chennai, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is expected at various places in Chengalpattu, Chennai, Kancheepuram, Ranipet, Tiruvallur, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Tirupattur, Villupuram, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, and Kanyakumari districts. Heavy rainfall has caused Nathamadu Lake in northern Tamil Nadu to overflow, flooding areas near Avadi. NDRF has deployed 3 teams in Tamil Nadu. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea until October 29. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red warning for the coasts of Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu due to Cyclone Montha. The storm is also likely to bring heavy rain to Telangana and Chhattisgarh. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has instructed railways to stay prepared, and the East Coast Railway has affected several trains.
