ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਸੈਕਟਰ-26 ਦੀ ਟਿੰਬਰ ਮਾਰਕੀਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦਹਿਸ਼ਤ ਫੈਲ ਗਈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਆਗੂ ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੰਨ ਹਮਲਾਵਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਕਤਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੀਨਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਿਆਹ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਹਿ ਦੁੱਖ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਇਸ ਕਤਲ ਨੂੰ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਲਾਰੈਂਸ ਬਿਸ਼ਨੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਲਡੀ ਬਰਾੜ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਗੈਂਗਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਮੰਨ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
