The increasing instances of F-1 visa cancellations among Indian students in the United States have led to heightened anxiety within the student community. Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, stated that Indian embassies and consulates are actively engaging with affected students to provide assistance. He mentioned, "We are aware that several Indian students have communicated with the U.S. government regarding their F-1 visa status, and we are investigating the matter."
These visa revocations often occur without prior warning, leaving students unaware of their change in legal status. In many cases, students receive notifications from their universities via email, informing them of the cancellation. This situation has instilled fear and uncertainty among the student population.
Additionally, since November 2023, the U.S. government has implemented new regulations in the student visa application process. All F, M, and J visa applicants are now required to provide accurate passport information; failure to do so will result in the rejection of their application.
